Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: The city's first gastronomical tapas tour, The Barcelona Taste is about food. And lots of it! On this 2-3 hour food tour we stop in 3-4 small food establishments in either the famous Gothic or the lovely Gracia neighborhoods of Barcelona. Our venues range from high-quality specialty shops to home-style tapas restaurants, each one with its own scrumptious specialties for you to taste. A knowledgeable and very friendly guide will safely lead you through this labyrinth of a neighborhood, all the while sharing stories about Barcelona life, food, and history. You will enjoy all the cuisine, and, due to the small size of the group, you will also enjoy a more personal, relaxed experience.

My girlfriend and I went on the Gotico tour and my oh my were we pleasantly surprised. Great introduction to Barcelona, it's food and culture. Our guide Lisa, was amazing, very knowledgeable. Our tour group was great, a bit on the “saddity" side, however always a pleasure to meet others from around the world on a common human need, food. One of the tapas bars we visited, I think we went back to like five times during our stay in Barcelona. Lisa was kind enough to follow up with an email of other places to try and even included restaurants in Sitges, where we were staying. Too bad I'm a street food kinda gyal, love my hole in the wall eateries and such...

I booked this tapas tour for our group of 6 (3 adults, 2 19 yr olds, 1 13 yr old) for our 1st night in Barcelona after disembarking the Norwegian Spirit. I also first heard about it from the Middle Aged Drama Queen's review on Cruise Critic, then read all the great reviews on Trip Advisor. We easily found the meeting point, Hotel Suizo, & joined a couple from Australia & guides Anna & Tito for the tour. This is a perfect way to get a view of the Gothic district. Anna & Tito were great, engaging each of us in conversation throughout the evening. Tito was even able to get my 13 yr old son chatting about soccer & other things. We enjoyed all 4 stops, trying foods & drinks we probably wouldn't have tried on our own. Anna took the time to find out our food interests for our remaining time in Barcelona & sent us a follow-up email that night with recommendations for what we were looking for. We would highly recommend this tour! It fills up fast, so book early!

My tapas tour of Gracia with Anna was one of the best tourist tours I have ever done. Low key but professional she took a very small group if us (3) to some wonderful local and authentic Barcelona bars to sample how Barcelona locals eat and drink in the evening.
We sampled sweet vermouth accompanied by tasty morsels in an atmospheric little bar, as well as craft beers. Next stop a fantastic modern place specialising in bringing out the best of the local produce from the market opposite, accompanied by good Spanish wines or beers and last stop a bustling Bodega for more tapas and dessert. Anna is great company and a god resource for all things Barcelona.
She follows up with a personalised email with tips and hints on things you expressed interest in during the evening.
It's worth doing this trip early in your Barcelona stay.

We had a great tour of the Gracia neighborhood with Anna. We visited three terrific local places for a leisurely sampling of delicious drinks and dishes we never would have found on our own. After our trip we received a personalized note with a lot of great recommendations for the rest of our stay in Barcelona. Highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves great food and wants to get off the beaten path.

Our family reunion group visited Barcelona, Spain during July 2014 for two days pre-cruise prior to taking a Med. cruise on RCCL’s Serenade of the Seas. Three months prior to our visit we made arrangements to take a tapas tour given by The Barcelona Taste Company (URL: www.thebarcelonataste.com). We discovered it from a Cruise Critic review article written by the Middle-Aged Drama Queen (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1668619&highlight=drama+queen&page=2). The following comment is a direct quote from her article: “A 2-3 hour culinary adventure, with four stops at different tapas bars that are OFF the beaten tourist path; with stories & trivia galore….it’s currently ranked #9 out of 160 tours of Barcelona on Trip Advisor, with extremely positive reviews.” We enjoyed a fantastic tour of four different restaurants around Barcelona. Our group, which was comprised of 13 people, was split into two groups because the restaurants visited could not individually handle such a large group at one time and each group visited different restaurants from the other. Jo, originally from Idaho, was the guide for my little group, and she was very attentive, interesting, and took a personal interest in each member of our group. She even ordered a special birthday cake for my little three year old grandson who accompanied us. At one of the restaurants, we were introduced to Sweet Vermouth with a twist of orange and seltzer, which was to die for. This prompted us to purchase 5-7 bottles of sweet vermouth and sangria to take home with us. The food at each restaurant seemed to be better than the previous place with the final stop being sweet (dessert) tapas; the entire tour was truly a culinary delight. The food at each stop was extremely tasty and more than sufficient. We very highly recommend this particular tour if you are ever in Barcelona; it is well worth it.
