“Clean and welcoming”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

I only stayed for one night but the hotel was great. Staff were very friendly and room was clean. The only minor issues I encountered were that the walls felt thin as you could hear neighbours at times. Location is out of the way from popular tourist areas but that didn't bother me. Overall, 9.5/10 for Acta Mimic. Moltes gracies!

Stayed for three nights in February. Location is good, but set away from la ramblas (which you may like) but which we found annoying. Close to a metro station which is convenient for sightseeing. Staff were nice and polite and all spoke good English. The hotel tries to be boutique, but comes across muddled in style (think budget-boutique). The corridors leading to rooms were black and dark with red lights next to each room door. This made it hard to see and it felt seedy. It def had elements of the red light district in Amsterdam.
Room itself was ok, but compact. Shower was in main room separated by a big curtain. Had a big translucent glass window on the side adjacent to shower which meant your outline could be seen by ppl walking on the street below (maybe you like the voyeurism) however this made us feel a little self conscious. Steam from the shower made the room feel damp and humid and the air con was only set to winter (hot) mode which the staff at reception said COULDN'T be changed due to it being cold outside.
At night we found it difficult to sleep due to the large glass window. A lot of street light filled the room which the dividing curtain did not block out. The noise from passers by outside was also very loud.
The safe didn't work in room. I complained to reception within 20 minutes of arriving - nothing was done for the duration of our stay.
Breakfast was best part of stay. I would definitely suggest paying the extra as it is great value for money and cheaper than the over-the-top prices on la ramblas.
Overall an average hotel with a few good touches. Wouldn't stay here again due to quality of rooms and location.

The hotel was beautifully decorated, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had only booked to stay for 2 days but wished we'd been there for longer! We intend to come back when it's a bit warmer and make use of the rooftop sun loungers.

I can say it was interesting... different, but not exactly what i call a nice hotel. The room was small, with no door for shower and no privacy. The shower walls were transparent inside and outside the room. Good view for the neighbors and for us, from our shower :)
Rooms has no windows to open, so there was not fresh air.
And the hallway is dark, with red lights. Interesting overall.
Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.
And the location is good, near Las Ramblas.

Room Tip: No windows to open, no shower door and transparent walls, but clean, white, with a very good bed to...

Very interesting old theatre transformed into a hotel. All the communal areas are very good but we don't think we'd spend more than one night in the open plan room. Nowhere to put a case. Hardly any room to get into bed. Worth looking at the design though... Maybe we're too old!

Room Tip: Get one where the bed is smaller than the room!

Acta Mimic has a great location around 2 blocks away from Las Ramblas. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms are great for couples, very clean and decoration is very modern. Breakfast itself and breakfast area is really good. We would definitely stay here again.

Modern clean stylish hotel near las Ramblas / place de la Catalunya. Nice breakfast. No doubt I will go back there when I am in Barcelona again. Worth the money!! Near the Harbour as well. Bed and pillows are nice.
