“Came through after a mix up”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2013

We had booked 2 nights at this hotel but due to a mix up in their reservation system, we were contacted by the owner and offered an alternate hotel nearby. The other hotel was more expensive and the owner of B & B paid the difference and arranged the new reservation for us while we were on the road. Although we were upset about the mix up; they more than made up for it by providing an alternate accommodation in the same area which we were very happy with, and took care of the extra expense.

This Bed and breakfast was in the ideal location, close to public transportation and walking distance to most of the sights. It was a little hard to find as the only sign is a gold sign on the side of the door. You did have to walk up a flight of stairs which frequently had a sewer smell but this did not permeate the rooms. It is very small with only 6-7 rooms. The lobby also serves as a breakfast room and was not large enough to hold everyone if they all ate at once, very rare. Breakfast was very nice, always with fresh orange juice etc. We found the gal at the desk at night to be especially helpful and friendly. Our rooms were very small, especially the bathroom where you could not plug in the hairdryer. Wifi was somewhat unreliable but it was available in the rooms.

Room Tip: We liked the front room with a balcony which was light and airy. Windows had good soundproofing.

Room was spotless and very comfortable, small for extended stay but for a few nights met our needs. Breakfast was good and service very good. Only caution would be for individuals with limited mobility there is a bottom portion of the door to the building that has to be stepped over, stairs before getting to the elevator, elevator is very small.

Room Tip: As indicated in the review: Only caution would be for individuals with limited mobility there is a b...

We have just stayed here for three nights and would definitely return. The rooms are clean and well designed if a little small. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Great breakfasts which includ freshly squeezed orange juice. The location couldn't be bettered.
Thank you for a lovely stay.

The converted apartment offers tidy and cosy rooms, some of them with tiny balconies, and is a very good value for money considering the central location. Might be a little bit noisy for some, but the windows are well isolated, and we had no problems falling asleep after all the entertainment the city has to offer.
Unfortunately we had to live very early, so we did not have a chance to try the breakfast we were so looking forward to which was included in the price. The only criticism I have is that from a real "family-style" B&B I would have expected a little more flexibility with regards to the special needs of its guest, such as offering some breakfast option half an hour before the official breakfast time. Otherwise everything was really nice.

I chose this hotel based on location and in that regard it did not disappoint. We took the Aerobus from the airport to Placa de Catalunya and from that drop off it was about a 20 minute walk up Passeig de Gracia. It is not obvious to find, we in fact walked past it initially. Only a small sign facing one way (so if you are approaching from the other way you will not see the sign). You go through the big wooden doors and up a flight of steps and enter by a door on the right at the top of the steps. Check in was efficient. We were given a room right next to reception, which was a little weird because we could hear them which makes us think they could likely hear us talk. The room was incredibly small, probably only 1 foot clearance between the bed and the walls. It was very stuffy- we tried to work the AC/Heat, and it basically only blew warm air (even when we wanted it to cool down). The one window would not open, so we just suffered and slept in a muggy hot room. At 70 euros/night, it was fine- we only needed a place to stay the night and the location was perfect since it was right next to the Passieg de Gracia train station (which we were taking the next morning). It served breakfast, but too late for us to take advantage of. I would probably stay there again if I could guarantee that we stay in a different room (with working ventilation, either just a window that opened or a working AC/Heat source).
