“Great Experience in Gaudi´s Nest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

We are four sisters Sharon, Jackie, Lynn and myself Majella in gaudi´s nest we felt right at home, great hospitality and views straight onto the sagrada familia that will take your breath away! Apartments spacious clean and with all the mod cons I would recommend these apartments to anyone wanting to have access to the best of Barcelona on your doorstep! Oh yea you´ve got to try the original Scottish Black Angus Beef Burgers, mouthwatering! In the bar/restaurant they have Guinness and Franziskaner!! An all rounder for a great break in Barcelona.
Hasta pronto kisses

We arrived at Barcelona airport after a 3am start to be met by our diver in the arrivals hall- he was a welcome sight and the transfer into Barcelona city was trouble free. We were travelling with 2 children age 7 & 12. When we arrived at the apartments we were surprised to find that although check in was no until 2 pm, the apartment was ready for us- what a relief. We were greeted with such a warn welcome that we all immeadiately fell in love with the place and when we arrived in our apartment and saw the view it really did take our breath away. We felt at home straight away, the apartment was lovely, and spotlessly clean. The bedrooms were lovely and the beds so comfortable , that after a lunch next door we all collapsed for a siesta. The owners took time to explain where everything was and pointed us in the right direction for the things we had already worked out that we wanted to see. We ended up taking the tourist bus tour and bought a 2 day pass for that which I would really recommend. We didnt get off the bus nuch ubtil we arrived at the mountain just near the Olympic Stadium. From there we took the cable car up to the castle and had a lovely walk around there with a tapas snack at a small roadside cafe.

I had not been to Barcelona for 10 years and I can honestly say that I fell in love with the place. The apartment was so lovely, we all would like to go again. Every street has something of interest, there are bars, cafes, tiny specialist shops, behind every door. The buildings are beautiful and the beaches are fab.

As a family we would all like to go back again and if we did we would definately stay at Gaudis Nest as the accomodation was just brilliant. That view will stay with me forever, as will the hospitality of the owners, who really do go out of their way to make sure your stay is memorable.

We took the arranged taxi back to the airport, and were really glad of that as at the time there was a huge thunderstorm.

I cant speak highly enough of this place and would dearly love to return as would the rest of my family.

Room Tip: We had room 4- 93 steps but worth it. You can have rest half way up. However I have vertigo and even...

The highlight of this accommodation is the view of Sagrada Familia. I think all rooms have this view from different heights and there is a roof top area where you can sit and have a few drinks over a great view of the cathedral and Barcelona. We had a group of 7 that were just one off being able to be fully accommodated in a room so they helped organise another hotel just up the road for half of us and allowed them to hang out at the rooftop as much as they liked. The amenities were good though I did get a rash from the bedsheet. No one else had this problem though. Communication between the owners in the lead up could have been better. Overall pretty happy with the accommodation.

Recently returned from amazing stay at Gaudis Nest, Barcelona. We ( me my
husband and mum) were met at the airport on 5th May 2014 (deff recommend this service arranged by Artur and Judit. Arrival swift and met on time. Guided tour through Barcelona interesting, and on arrival met by Judit and Artur. Judit was brillent, took us to our amazing room and went through details on the map explaining were we were, and how to get around. We were given telephone number for 24 Hour contact. Anyway back to the accommodation, as we walked into the apartment we were amazed by the amazing view of the Famillia Segrada, you will not get better, apartment six (which had a lift) absolutely amazing. apartment had two bedrooms, large bathroom with shower and bath, lovely large sitting room and a lovely a joining kitchen which had everything in it. You do not need anything its all there! The only I could find was that some of the furniture was bit worn, but to be honest with a view that this apartment has you will only be looking out of the window in awe, you won't notice the odd worn out chair. Barcelona is amazing and has a lot to offer. It's a city break, but it has the beach and seafront,
We had an amazing time, and look forward to going back. Thank you Arthur and Judit we really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed here with my daughter recently for four nights. We stayed in apt 4 which although on the fourth floor is actually FIVE from the ground. This is the way they number in Spain. This was only an issue when we left or returned which we often did only once a day, or I should say we planned it that way. Three times we left only to realize we had forgotten something and had to go back and then the long climb became an issue. You may find yourself leaving things instead of braving the climb as we did a few times. With the climb comes the great views though, which we did enjoy very much.

The service was excellent. When the staff was not able to check us in right away due to another guest arriving at the same time, we were offered a free beverage in the Tastet de Artur cafe and ended up having lunch there. We ate there several times and I thought the food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality. Artur seems to take great care in all the food selection for the restaurant and it shows. We thought we would have a dryer, but did not and they offered to dry our clothes, which was important since it rained while we were there.

My only complaint is about the comfort of the rooms. The sofa was quite hard and seemed run down as did the beds. The beds have no top sheet so if you do not want the heavy comforter over you, you have no cover at all. Finally, the shower and wifi were not reliable, with the former being the bigger issue of course. The first two days, the shower temp varied from scalding to cold despite leaving the temp settings alone. The last two days, I was not able to get any hot water at all and had to bathe in the kitchen sink. Oddly though, it worked for my daughter who bathed in the evening - although with the temp variations, which she said were common in Spain. I did mention this to Artur on the third day, but there was no change for me on the last morning. Some things we expected would be included were not (laundry soap, bath soap) so you should check before arrival if these are important to you.

I am not sure I would stay there again, but for my first trip to Barcelona, I am very happy that I chose to stay at Gaudi's Nest.

Position, position, position. If you want to experience a magnificent view of Segrada Familia from your stay in Barcelona, stay at Gaudi's Nest. Whether from your apartment or the roof-top terrace the view in the early morning, mid morning, afternoon, twilight or throughout the night this place is wonderful. No longer the brief visit but an experience. So convenient to visiting this brilliant basillica - allow a couple of hours to see the interior, tour of the towers, museum and crypt and of course walking around the outside. It may look like a giant sand castle from the outside but is glowing with lightness on the interior. This is just one part of Barcelona and Gaudi and his many flowing, fantasy buildings isn't the only architecture to visit in Barcelona, So much to see and so many walks. Despite panoramic photos of Barcelona looking like brown wall to wall buidings there are so many tree-lined avenues. There are 2 subway train stations less tha 3-4 mins from Gaudi's nest and seek out the great info from Artur and his very helpful crew. Restaurants in the area are wonderful and outside the main tourist streets. What a fantastic stay we had during our week in Gaudi's Nest.

Room Tip: Bedrooms are on generally facing the street away from Segrada Familia but living/dining rooms look o...

The view was unforgettable, even for an atheist. service friendly , efficient and helpful. Everything was in good order but the lack of a lift was the only drawback. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Restaurant, however, is over priced.

Room Tip: higher rooms build your leg muscles but are worth it.
