Owner description: Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself. We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct: - Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes. - City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes. - City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes. - Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes. - Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

“Gaudi's fantasy world!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

A large free park that has many aspects- all interesting- whalebone walkway, serpentine benches, two fascinating buildings at the entrance, and much more. It is both an adult adventure and children's play yard. Gaudi's home is a short walk for a small fee but also worthwhile.

“Dusty & Hot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

You need to buy tickets for the more interesting parts of the park. Be sure to buy them online ahead of time. I would recommend taking a cab so that you end up at the front of the park. We took their Metro and had to walk up a large hill. That places you at the back of the park. There is still a lot of great things to see if you don't buy a ticket.

It was a hot day when we visited, so the climb to the park at the beginning wasn't fun. There are dirt paths, so it will be a bit dusty.

“A park with a view”

A wonderful place to visit with lovely buildings, of course, in true Gaudi style. The park was lush and very pretty. A the top you get a fabulous view of the city.

“Spectacular Views over the City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

This park was high on my list of things to visit and I was glad it took the time to climb the very steep hill remembering to look back for a photo opportunity. Took the Metro to Stop Vallcarca and then used the on street elevator to assist with the steep climb. Once in the Parc itself you can wander around the free section to your hearts content. I prebooked tickets online which allow you into the most popular areas with the serpent mosaic, lizard and under vault area. The views over the city are amazing and a well placed cafe allows you to soak up the view. There are some nice little shops on the route back downhill which seems to be where the hop on hop off tour bus stops. We walked back to Lesseps metro which took around 30 mins from the Parc entrance.
