Owner description: Casa Mila, popularly known as La Pedrera, is a most unusual building, constructed between 1906 and 1912 by the architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926) and declared UNESCO World Heritage in 1984. Today it is the headquarters of Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera and houses a cultural centre that is a reference point in Barcelona for the range of activities it organises and the different spaces for exhibitions and other public uses it contains. A visit to La Pedrera, landmark building and container, gives us a better understanding and appreciation of architecture and transports us to the period when Antoni Gaudí lived.

“Fascinating and whimsical architecture”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

Even our teen boys enjoyed seeing the interesting architecture of La Pedrera. The tour allows you into three parts of the structure: the roof, the attic, and one apartment (which is furnished to represent what it would have looked like at the time of construction). The roof structures are great for photos.

“Amazing Gaudi”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

La Pedrera is a spectacular architectural feat. Gaudi was briliant in his use of form and line, creating magical fairlytale like formations. the roof is glorious, not only for it's architectural marvel but for the view of Barcelona from above. A must-see on anyone's trip.

“Gaudi is Great”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2014

Another must see Gaudi creation. This apartment building is simply a work of art. Gaudi's typical inverted parabolic style is masterfully employed and executed. Unfortunately, current restoration prevented full appreciation of the exterior features, but we were still blown away by the architectural and design features of the apartment, attic and rooftop.

We went as part of a tour package, so entry was quick. Long lines outside suggest any advance reservation or package that bypasses the lines is worthwhile.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

The tour of the Gaudi building is all internal, bar for the roof, which is like nothing I have ever seen before. You will also get to walk completely through one of the apartments and see it in its original state. Unbelievable.

Very crowded, so try and go at an off time. Well worth the visit..interesting to see apts inside w furnishings, which you do not see in Battlo.Great rooftop views.. A bit nerve wracking if you fear heights. Self guided, but that was fine..great gift shop.
