I was here in July 2014 for a wedding. The hotel is spectacular and the staff very helpful. The wedding dinner was unbelievable with everybody getting all of their courses at the same time. Food was delicious.

The hotel is well located on the beach. It is modern, clean and visually pleasing. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, modern and well appointed. If you are looking for modern in Barcelona with beach access you should stay here.

We stayed at the Arts in June of 2014 for two nights prior to a Mediterranean cruise. We chose this hotel based on the advice of our American Express Fine Hotels program consultant. We were not disappointed. The reason I rated this hotel as only "very good" was because of the way the electrical switches were configured in our one-bedroom suite. The lights in the living room could not be controlled separately from the bedroom lights! This became a source of irritation at bedtime. Other than that, the suite was excellent with comfortable traditional furnishings and a panoramic view of the city and the Marina. The hotel itself is a mix of modern and traditional styling and is very recognizable from miles away because of the stylized giant "Fish" art structure on the Marina side of the hotel. The Pool area and restaurants are very upscale and comfortable. The location is within walking distance of the zoo and historic park. The statue of Columbus and the tree lined walking shopping mall, named La Rambla, are also close by.

Now the best part... the Service. We were very well served and made to feel very comfortable at this hotel. Much of the staff greeted us by name, readily answered all our questions and attended to our needs. This excellent service extended to the restaurants where staff went out of their way to prepare meals according to our wishes. When we return to Barcelona, Hotel Arts will be our choice.

Room Tip: The suites are corner rooms with views of both the Marina and downtown or Marina and shoreline.

my bag was stolen in the lobby restaurant, containing passports and wallet, hotel was very unhelpful telling me to go to police department, only when i insisted that they send someone with me to translate , they agreed, they wouldn't allow me to check the lost and found just for peace of mind as it is against hotel policy which was baffling, the manager telling me that theft is not only in the arts hotel its in all Barcelona hotels was his justification, after research turns out the hotel is a hub for thieves and pickpockets, further internet research turns out there have also been incidents of breaking to hotel rooms . all in all a terrible experience and what made it worse was checking out and paying full rate for a terrible experience. a special thank you to Julie who did all she can to ease my families sorrow. further more, getting hold of reception or concierge is a hassle as phones always busy.

My husband and i stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in July. It was a brilliant experience. Positives:
1. It's a brand new hotel, and spacious.
2. It's right by the beach, gives you opportunity to enjoy the beach and to visit the city by cab, city bus, on foot.
3. Very helpful concierge despite being crowded.
4. Wireless is free in the lobby and unlike many hotels who offer the same service, the wireless is working and there are proper seats to sit in the lobby while using internet.
5. They offer free water with lime, and some sweets in the lobby. It was a nice/small but sweet touch that makes a difference.

Improvement points:
Check out time was very crowded, and long lines in reception. They need to apply check out from TV, internet as many hotels do in the US. Too time consuming.

We'd definitely stay here again. It also seemed appropriate for staying with kids, so this would be our choice for our stay if we come with our kids as well.
