“Lovely for the family despite being a business hotel”
Reviewed 31 August 2014

We stayed here because our friends' recommendations. To be honest, we would have stayed at the W hotel which is at the other end of the same beach, but they didn't pick up their phone despite calls, guess it was because they were full. IT WAS GREAT except the michelin star restaurant which was a bit of a letdown. To be fair, their service was impeccable. I would give them 200% and double the 5 stars for their service. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left. We were received warmly and quickly and greeted with such warmth. They checked us in as soon as they could. We left our passports with the concierge and they offered and brought the right luggage to us within minutes for us to complete the check in though they were flexible to wait and check us in first!! There was free flow cava, candy for the kids, service staffs waiting around to help at the slightest wave of a hand. How's that for impeccable service. And the head of concierge deserves a special mention here. He organised our tickets for the soccer game, provided us with all the information we needed to get to where we wanted to be and to do what we wanted. The lobby was busy, but the concierge was always cool as a cucumber and 100% professional. Room service was faultless too. And the location...a really really really short walk to the beach. And if you are with kids, rent a bike, or an electric tortinette/scooter, kick a few balls on the beach, walk the length and dine at the many restaurants along the beach (thought choose wisely for beach front restaurants). There is always plenty of taxis to get into town, and best of all, the hotel is a stone throw away from the stop where the tourist bus drops and picks you back up to and from all the major tourist sites. Enjoy barcelona, a city for everyone.

Hotel Arts is a Ritz Carlton property (although they are not permitted to use the corporate name because of the historic Ritz in Madrid). This hotel, located on the beach, is magnificent. Besides being a stunning contemporary building, the grounds are beautiful -- with a wonderful pool, and a grass lawn for lounging on hammocks. Rooms are spacious, most with views of the ocean. Bathrooms are stunning, with bathtub, double sinks, walk-in shower, and private toilet w/door. We stayed on the Club Floor, and we considered the extra expense well worth it. Food and beverages, including an array of alcoholic beverages, were available from morning til night. We booked the hotel through Amex Platinum, and also benefited from the perks of early check-in, late check-out, 85 Euro credit for food, & complimentary breakfast. Most impressive at this hotel was the service -- truly the best service we've encountered at a luxury hotel. Because it was summer high season, there were many interns working at the hotel, who did everything possible to ensure that every need was cared for (with no one even hinting at the possibility of doing so for a tip). The minute we arrived at the front door, we were whisked to the elevator by a young man who handed us off to a stylishly dressed woman who escorted us to the Club Floor. We arrived from our overnight flight at 9 AM. When we got off the elevator, a Club attendant was waiting for us with a tray of chilled juices in champagne glasses. We were invited to partake in the scrumptious breakfast in the Club, and were then escorted to our room by another host who spent about 15 minutes showing us all the features of the room while also pointing out the city's highlights visible from our room. This same level of service continued throughout our stay. In fact, when we checked out, the hostess in the Club escorted us down to the lobby where we bid farewell to the manager on duty who had a present for us. Yes, the hotel is pricey, but it was an experience we will never forget. Can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Definitely book a Club Level room. It's well worth the extra expense. You'll be treated li...

I stayed here along with my husband and a business incentive trip through his company. From the minute we stepped foot off the bus the staff didn't know what to do for us first. The girl who checked us in was glowing and her smile contagious. I knew it was going to be a fantastic experience from the start. The staff was always willing and ready to tend to any needs or requests. Naomi was a doll and after helping us to locate our destination sat and joked with us for a bit. Arthur from the pool was so helpful each and every day. He took time to small talk and was simply a doll. The rooms were a dream, so clean and decor was beautiful. This is a very chic hotel with the best customer service one could ever want. When I talk about our trip I say the staff here practically did everything but assist us in the toilet!!! Kudos to the arts hotel. Can't wait to go back one day.

My initial excitement from an early check in soured quickly at 1 am when I realized the 5th floor beach overlook could double as a disco.
I awoke to Sirens, booming disco beat, crowd cheers at with no relief.

Depressing during my lovely weekend stay. Rooms gorgeous, comfy beds and toiletries.
It was an easy but very expensive stay for a conference. Internet was 15 euros/ day and comes were 8 euros.
Nice and close to the airport.

We stayed over bank holiday weekend at the Hotel Arts. We were with our three children (12,10,7). Even before we arrived, Laura at the concierge desk was incredibly helpful giving us fantastic restaurant recommendations and booking us the most brilliant guide (Mariona). When we arrived, we were greeted by agathe who charmed all of us and took special care of our kids, sending them notes with cookies to wait for them in their room when we returned from a day's sightseeing and even arranging a chocolate picture of messi to be made and sent to their room as a surprise before we all went to the Barcelona football match. All the staff were also incredibly careful to make sure that everything that our 7 year old ate (who is a celiac) was gluten free. When our 10 year old was ill with tonsillitis, they arranged for an excellent doctor to come and see him as soon as we needed. Afterwards they all asked after him and the room service waiter even brought him some tea with honey without being asked and at no charge. They collected his antibiotics for him from the chemist for us and could not have been kinder or more helpful throughout our stay. Carlos, who is in charge of guest relations, deserves an award as we have never come across such fantastic service anywhere before. There are so many lovely things they did for us to make our stay more enjoyable. In addition, it is a gorgeous hotel, with stunning rooms, great toiletries (asprey), fabulous pool, delicious breakfast and amazing views. We will definitely be going back

Everything about this hotel is perfect! Rooms, facilities, location, staff, food all perfect! I especially enjoyed the view over the sea and marina. It is near aqarium as well as La Rambla and Sagrada Familia. Strongest recommendations! It's name and 5 stars are well earned. Hope to stay there again soon.
