When my wife and I signed up for this evening tour, we were hoping for nothing more than that it help us adjust to the local time upon our afternoon arrival in Barcelona. We were pleasantly surprised, and enjoyed the tour tremendously. The group gathered in one restaurant, a short walk from our hotel, where we all enjoyed a glass of wine and a few small bites. From there we walked through one of the city markets to a second restaurant, where we all shared four or five different tapas along with some sangria, and ended up at a third, where we were able each to choose three pintxos from the bar, along with one more glass of wine.
There were eight other people in our group, which made for a comfortable size, such that we could walk together and hear our guide easily amidst the street noise and bustle. Everyone was nice, and we were all roughly in the same age range. We enjoyed seeing the city on foot, and the exercise helped us burn off some of the tapas (hopefully). We received an ample amount of food and drink for the price, and we thought our guide Encarna did a wonderful job keeping us all together, even while allowing us to browse among various stalls in the city market. She was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her city, and her excitement kept us engaged as well. We asked her for some additional restaurant suggestions, and she provided us with several good options.
All in all, it was an enjoyable introduction to the city, starting off our vacation on a great note. I would enjoy taking another tour led by the same group if it was as well-run as this one.
