“Lovely hotel”
Reviewed 18 April 2013

This a wonderful, affordable hotel with great staff. Our room was beautiful with a great bathroom and a small balcony overlooking the street. It's a short walk to either the Plaça d'Espanya or Rocafort metro stations (the AeroBus from BCN stops at Plaça d'Espanya) and a pleasant walk to all the major sites as well. Do have a look at the impressive conversion of Las Arenas bullring into a shopping center (go to the roof for spectacular vistas). Highly recommended and a great value.

This hotel has a perfect location - in a quiet district just next to Joan Miro park, Plaça d'Espanya, Montjuïc, National Museum of Art of Catalonia, Torre Calatrava in Olympic Park. To get from the airport you just need to take bus - 20 minutes and you're already on the spot. Metro station is also situated just next to the hotel, but we never used it as preferred to walk through the city (30 minutes of slow walk to la Rambla). We never had breakfast at the hotel as it was quite expensive. In spite of it we ate in the neighbothood where locals have their Bocadillo del dia + cafe - nice chance to watch the local life. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable with friendly staff. I really liked it and would recommend for those who want to save money but at the same time stay with comfort.

Had a great time Spending my New Year's Eve in this Hotel... Staff was very Accomodating and was very Helpful in giving you info about the culture and what to expect on new year's day, breakfast was great, rooms are well maintained and service is good to excellent!
Though the area is quite confusing in the beginning you would appreciate the location coz of its quiet and friendly environment!
Well Recommended Absolutely!

We were landed at the first time in Barcelona, and went to the hotel that placed a little far from the center of the town but not too far if you know how the metro works.
The room was small but we didn't need mor than that, it was very clean and nice.
The place is small what makes you feel like at home.
The breakfast was excellent and very clean dinning room.
And the stuff, the stuff were just great! So kind and help with any question with a smile!
Thank you!
We love to come back as soon as we can!!

If you are going to Barcelona for the major sights, stay away from this hotel, since it is only suitably located for a conference at the Fira. Even then, there are considerably better options available. Where to start? The hotel is very small and narrow. This gives the feeling of claustrophobia which continues upstairs in the bedrooms which resemble a prison cell. Mine had no natural light, the walls were paper thin, and sound insulation was conspicuous by its absence. Sleeping was difficult even when the hotel was relatively empty, because of noise transfer from every direction. The staff were generally offhand and miserable. I am fairly fluent in Spanish (not Catalan), but even then they were unhelpful and more interested in chatting to their friends at the lobby than helping their guests.
I was disappointed to not be able to use the sun terrace on the roof; it was closed for the winter, despite the warm temperatures in October.
The plus sides - a very good breakfast for a 3 star hotel. Free internet access, which was very useful (wired and wifi). The room and bathroom were very clean, which was good, but the bed was uncomfortable and small for a double (they would not have been able to get a standard sized double into this room though).
However, do not let these plus points cloud your judgement. If you are looking for a 3 star hotel in this area specifically, the Silken Concordia is better. If you want to have easy access to all the major attractions of Barcelona, don't stay in this area, and definitely don't stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any good rooms in this hotel.

The hotel is in a residential area and there aren't that many restaurants to choose from if you want to stay in the area. It's not too bad to get the metro but not ideal; about a ten minute walk. The hotel is clean and comfortable and good value for money. If I were to go back to Barcelona, I'd probably choose to stay in Fontana or Diagonal. Better choice of restaurants and a local supermarket in the area.

Other than that hotel was great!

A very nice hotel, room and bathroom comfortable size well presented and clean, Staff were helpful. For a tourist it is a bit away from the main tourist center and the port, but it is only 5-10 minutes walk to subway, bus and airport shuttle stops at Plaza Espana . There are also food outlets and shops close by and a large shopping center.
