“impossibly noisy”

we actualy lodge at this Hotel. we have a room at 6 floor with a terrace .rental of room expensif. on 7 floor is pool area , Party all day . now at 1 am still Party and chairs mooving and People throwing cigarettes on our terrassse. at reception no help. not possible to change room . we are absolutly not recommanding this place

We sincerely apologize for the dissatisfaction during your first night at Gran Havana. We strive to provide our residents with exceptional service and are looking to prevent the reoccurrence of this issue. On May 29th, there was an open bar party available to all guests, including free food and drinks with live music, taking place in the lobby and terrace areas.
We understand that you were very irritated while writing this review, but after your conversation with the Hotel general manager at 12:30 p.m., he moved you the day after to another terrace room farther away from the bar as promised. He also gave you the complimentary breakfast buffet for the rest of your stay as agreed.
Regrettably, we cannot take responsibility for the impolite actions of our other guests, but we are working to find solutions in order to ameliorate this problem for the future.
We hope the rest of your stay was satisfying and you can consider to choose our Hotel again during your next trip to Barcelona

Hotel is well situated about 10 minutes walk from Catalunya Square
This gave us a chance to see other parts of Barcelona away from the Rambla but was still only a gentle stroll to the buzz of the popular squares
The accommodation is very good, rooms spotless and good size
Small rooftop pool with a lovely bar and eating area which would be excellent for relaxing although we didn't have the time to use it on this occasion.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floors ensure no noise form traffic

I visited Barcelona for 5 days and stayed at this hotel. The location is great to visit the city center, la Rambla, la Sagrada familia, and it's only a 2 minute walk to Girona metro station. My room was really small but clean and the amenities were more than any other hotel I have been. The breakfast buffet was very good with a big variety of food to choose from. I was a little disappointed with the late check-in (not before 2-2.30 in the afternoon).

Quite, probably lately renovated (rooms are highly maintained), very welcome receptionists, and a surprisingly good breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a good location, conditions and price (reasonable) on Barcelona.

We stayed at the Silken Gran hotel last weekend while in Barcelona for the Formula 1. While the hotel looks and feels nice, there were some really unacceptable instances of poor management and customer service. First, the bar staff were unengaged and rude. Secondly, our hotel room had the air-conditioning stuck on high heat for 2 nights (it was fixed for our third and final night). Finally, when we asked to fill in the customer feedback form on the final day, we watched while the restaurant manager, who handed me the form and collected it, read a review and screwed it up and binned it right in front of us and other guests. I notified this incident to management who apologised but this is clearly a slap in the face to guest who left feedback. Why bother to ask in the first place if you are going to dismiss it so publicly.
The place did have some good aspects, the breakfast buffet was impressive and the location is very central but really this does not make up for the mentioned failings.

Pros:
Good location in central Barcelona
Well stocked breakfast buffet

Cons:
Poor customer service and attitude
Rooms air-conditioning was unreliable and took too long to fix
Customer feedback was publicly dismissed and joked about in view of other guests

From the general management of Silken Gran Hotel Havana we would like to thank you for information regarding your experience in our Hotel and we would like to express our concern about the bad practice from one person of our restaurant staff, that we absolutely reject and that will have the necessary consequences for the department involved.
Thanks to the comments of our guests we are able to know our opportunities to improve our service, and that is the reason why it is very important for us the surveys we give to our guests at check out, as well as all comments we receive from Tripadvisor and other web sites . All these comments are properly processed and treated at internal management meetings in order to reach a continuous improvement.
We hope next time you come to Barcelona you should come to meet the General Manager or myself and see the improvements made in this matter thanks to your suggestions.

Stayed here on business and was upgraded to a suite. I found it a little drab and had I paid the full amount I would have been disappointed. However the hotel is clean and reception was welcoming. I believe the hotel was full which was why I was upgraded. Breakfast was ok and for a very short stay all was acceptable.

My wife & I had a planned romantic city break, my first time. After a very shakey start, whereby our room had been double booked and us staying in the hotel over the street things surpassed all our expectations.
We were offered a huge suite by way of compensation, could have put the family in it.
The manager was extremely apologetic and his whole team overstretched themselves to ensure we were well looked after in all ways.
Rooms very clean and well appointed. The pool and bar on the roof were great, with service and a varied tapas menu.
We were offered a complimentary dinner as a way of part apology re room mess up but have to say the restaurant menu seemed quite basic , with the plethora of restaurants and bars in the city it seemed a shame to stay in , so we gave it a miss.
Would stay again
