I stayed here for 3 nights in January with my boyfriend, it's a Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff & in a great location to everything, I would definitely return here. The only thing they could add is coffee in the room

First of all I would like to thank you for having chosen Hotel España for your recent trip to Barcelona.
I am happy to know that the hotel and its services have fulfilled your expectations. I highly appreciate to have your feedback and your proposal about having coffe in the room. I will take into consideration also for standar rooms. Deluxe rooms, junior suite and suite have coffee machine and I highly recommend this type of rooms for long stays. They worth it!

I look forward to welcoming you back to our Hotel very soon. My best regards.

From a convent to a hotel c1901 - magnificently, but sensitively restored in 2009. This means the rooms are a little small but very acceptable given the outstanding features of the hotel. Exceptional & friendly service in an environment of an architectural overload. Soaring ceilings with Catalan features, an atrium extending to the roof, the bar with an alabaster fireplace, the breakfast room with a 19th century nautical theme etc etc. do yourself a favour & check it out on google.
I have not had a better hotel experience anywhere.
While you're at it , check out the hotel restaurant - The Fonda.
Great location in a quiet street off The Ramblas next to The Licieu Theater.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms are larger but standard was more than OK.

Location is down a street off main las ramblas so good location (although the street directly opposite the hotel entrance appeared to be frequented in the late evening by ladies of the night). Hotel is very impressive and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful - I was given an inside room which had no windows or natural light but Reception were more than happy to change this and I was given a room with a large window and balcony overlooking the street which was much better. All rooms are decorated to a high standard and very clean and comfortable. Complimentary toiletries are provided and there is a fridge in each room which is stocked daily with bottled water and fruit juice as well as chocolate bars and peanuts. Also hairdryers in rooms (which was not advertised so no need to take one). Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again but would request a room with a window next time.

My husband and I stayed at the hotel in October 2013 for our Wedding Anniversary. On arrival we were told that there would be a bottle of champagne sent up to the room. A very nice touch.
There were chocolates and biscuits in the room as well as the mini bar having free water, chocolate and juice.

We stayed in a deluxe room which was ultra modern and exceptionally clean. Our room also had a balcony with views onto the side street, which was very pleasant and lovely to be able to open the doors on a morning. The hotel is in an excellent location, just off Las Ramblas and the nearest Metro station is just around the corner. We virtually managed to walk everywhere, it has a very central location.

We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay their again.

Room Tip: As for a deluxe room with an outside balcony.

From the time we checked in until we checked out, the staff was on top of it. They seemed to know what we were looking for before we did. We also enjoyed breakfast at the hotel one day & room service on our last night before flying home. We have been to Barcelona on two other occasions and were happy with our hotel choice this time.
