Owner description: This fascinating area is steeped in history, with city hall located in the same spot where kings once reigned. You'll find narrow streets and squares here, with Gothic mansions, museums, historic churches, bars and restaurants. The Placa del Rei is reputedly the place where King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella welcomed Columbus after his voyage to America.

Very nice walking through the old city part of Barcelona. Really great to see this part of town. Better do this part on foot to take a good look at the old city.

Want to see and experience back in time, the narrow streets looks like a maze, if you want to go and visit La Boqueria, start in the Cathedral then wander in Barri Gothic then find yourself along Ramblas. Take your time and enjoy every bit of it by looking at those historical buildings.

Finding ourselves quite tired the afternoon we visited the Old City, we took advantage of a local offer for a pedicab for only 15 euros each. The tour we received was excellent, and included areas we could never have found on foot.

Really loved the walk in the narrow streets in the old city. Big enough to enjoy wandering about, small enough that you won't get lost. Must see

This area of town is mostly know for the Cathedral of Barcelona. Barri Gotic as it is called goes from the port around the Ramblas and it is worth to have a look Inside those small streets where you will find numerous fountain and should it not be for the cars, it would make you feel in another century. Many shops and restaurants around, lots of tapas places.
