Description: New concept of tapas, reinventing our spanish beloved pepito sandwich, feminizing it and using new ingredients under this same concept. Taking care of the traditional receipts, product´s season and tapas eating way. La Pepita is a place to come for an early aperitif, some beers and bravas, late lunch or dinner, at the marble bar or in the cozy small saloon. It is a familiar restaurant, where the value for money and treat is something we take care about.

Arriving at prime time- 9pm- we had to wait about 15-20 mins behind the crowded bar for a table. The decor was pretty modern, with specials written on the bar mirror, near the jamon iberico that was hanging up. The wait allowed us to pore over the menu with our drinks, so we were ready to order when they sat us. We feasted on croquettes w/jamon, Argentinian beef skewers w farro, la Pepita Napolitana, and la Pepita Tuna w/ a soy glaze and avocado. We tried the crema Cataluna for dessert with some house cava - excellent. The good food made up for the teeny table we had! La Pepita seemed to be very popular with the locals, and we were glad we tried it.

I went there with my sister and we had great fun. This is very nice, casual and very local place with cheerful atmosphere. Most of tapas we tried were really tasty! One seemed to be too salty and we decided not to finish it (also because we were full). Waitress was so worried that we didn't like it, that she proposed desert for free!! :) We even didn't expect it from her and were quit satisfied with all we got so far, but she insisted :) Quite funny. Desert was very nice! Corn ice-cream- yummy!

We ate here on a long weekend Friday night and liked it so much we came back on Saturday which is significant given how many fantastic restaurants Barcelona has to offer. Fun, friendly and filled to the rafters with happy people, it is best to just sit at the bar and enjoy the buzzy vibe. The tapas we choose were extraordinary in variety and taste and the wine list is also excellent which is something that is overlooked in many other tapas places. Loads of fun, good value for money, charming staff and excellent food, La Pepita is exactly what a modern Spanish tapas bar should aspire to be.

This restaurant was suggested by our Guest House owner which was a short walk away. We went late on our first night in Barcelona and had a fabulous meal! This restaurant would definitely be appreciated by "Foodies!" The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and priced fairly. The staff was very friendly and I would go back again or recommend to friends visiting Barcelona.
