“The best Roast Baby Lamb and Pork”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2013

Housed in this old mansion along the plush district of Barcelona, what impressed me most about this restaurant was its edifice and its Michelin 2 star ratings. The roast lamb just melt in your mouth, and the servings are generous. I also loved its tapas for appetizer and of course the cavs and red wine, all too yummy.

“Highlight of my Barcelona food experience!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2013 via mobile

Started with Black Sausage with Rice, Red Sausage, Cold Red Peppers, and Minced Meat. Main course was Roast Baby Lamb in Wooden Oven, Roasted Baby Pork, Baked Potatoes and Green Salad. And for dessert had Chocolate Mousse, Orujo and Rosquillas. All served family style with overflowing Cava and Red Wine. I'm hungry all over again.

A must try is the Baby Lamb. It actually put the cochinillo (baby pork) to shame. I will definitely come back just to experience this again. Worth every penny!

“Delicious lechazo (roast milk-fed lamb)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2012

2 of us visited this restaurant (near Plaza Catalunya) for lunch. We had booked a table and were seated next to the window. The decor is traditional Spanish and we were welcomed with a glass of cava on the house. We both chose grilled green asparagus with romesco sauce as starter (€7.50 each). We then shared a quarter whole milk-fed lamb - lechazo (€40) with salad (€4.60) and patatas fritas (€3.50). The lamb was succulent, tender and very juicy - delicious. One of us had the cheesecake as dessert (€4.60), with coffee to follow. We had wine by the glass (excellent Rioja crianza for €3.80).

The service was efficient and attentive. Would go again. If anyone has never tried lechazo, it is truly delicious.

Family of 4 (2 teens) really enjoyed the lamb and overall experience at El Asador de Aranda. The lamb ribs were our favorite.

“No es el original - sigue siendo muy bueno”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2012

This is not the original (at Tibidabo - quite the best Castillian restaurant in Barcelona) but nevertheless Michelin rated and very good. A chain of carveries, this restaurant specializes in lamb roasted in a clay oven - quite delicious and more than enough to satisfy any appetite. We enjoyed the lamb with tapas and a gentle carafe of wine. A bit too pricey if you think you are at the original El Asador.
