This hotel was a great price for the money. I've stayed at other suites in barcelona and this one was half or a third of the price.

I believe it was once an apartment block but it appears to be recently renovated. The only downside is it is a good 15 minute taxi from downtown and maybe 20 minutes from the beach.

Good value for money though. We came with two kids and you get two separate rooms which are separated by a fully closable sliding pocket door.

It's not a fancy as some of the suites I have been in but at 110 a night compared to 350 a night I am think it's still very nice considering.

There is a Starbucks about 5 blocks away so I would skip the breakfast and go there (unless you get it included for free).

There is a nice little kids play ground about a block away which our son enjoyed.

They hotel us to arrange a transfer with child seats in the taxi it was a bit overpriced (70 euro where a normal taxi to airport will cost 25-30) but its hard to get children seats in taxis here.

We were not able to enjoy the outdoor pool as its too cool but it looks ok. We didn't have a chance to try the gym.

We did try the niechel resteraunt next door (lobby desk made a reservation) and found the food to be really good as well. It's also nice to waddle back to the room as its connected to the hotel.

We had a nice balcony (the size of the room) with a table and two chairs and a little recliner on it.

We took the tram which goes up av diagonal and please pay attention to which one you take as we thought we had the right one (3) and ended up getting to the end of the line (1) only about half way the the center.

The room had a nespresso machine but no water boiler or iron.

All in all a nice stay minus the location being a little far out it was a great hotel at a great price.

We stayed here for two nights. We were going to see Barcelona FC play at Camp Nou and it's a short 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is clean and is in a neighborhood so it was a bit strange looking off our balcony to the apartments across the street. Felt very safe though walking around at night. Staff spoke English and was helpful. Enjoyed our stay and would stay here again - especially to see Barca!

Although not as convenient as Rey Juan Carlos, it's a 15 minute walk from the Palau de Congres. Amazing rooms, huge beds and good value. Breakfast was fresh and varied. Great restaurant next door.

A little off the beaten track, but a taxi will take you to the Ramblas or the harbour, and taxis are reasonable in Barcelona.

I will definitely stay there again if I am working at the Congress Centre

Dear Sir,

Thank you very much for sharing you experience. You mention something which is very important for us and which no other guest had mentioned before and that is how convenient our hotel is for all those travellers or delegates coming to Barcelona to attend a congress. Indeed our hotel is close to the Congress Palace (Palau de Congresos de Catalunya) where many important events take place. It takes around 10 minutes to walk or less than 5 min by taxi.

Kindest regards,

The AC Victoria Suites is a reasonable place. it is clean and fresh. It is relatively small and only allows internet in the lounge for free. This is rather spotty, however. Skip the breakfast along with the room and only pay for the room. It is over 20 Euro and you can walk to Ave Diagonal and get the same type of breakfast for 1/3 to 1/2 as much.

Dear Guest,

I'm sorry our hotel did not satisfy you completely, you just rate us 3* out of 5* which as the title of your review says is only average. However, you do not mention what made you rate us so mediocre.

If you wish to contact me directly and explain I would very much appreciatte. It is by reading our guest's reviews how we best learn to improve our failures, procedures and services.

Kind regards,

This is my second stay at this hotel in 2013 and both times have had a good experience. I was here for a course at Esade business school which is a 10 minute uphill walk away. To go into Barcelona it's about 5min walk to the Nearest metro station Maria Cristina which took about 20 mins into Placa catalunya for just 2 euros each way.

The hotel is in a quiet residential area with a few bars and restaurants nearby and some shopping including El Corte Ingles. It is perfect if going to the Nou Camp for the football.

Rooms are exceptionally large and comfy. Excellent shower and wide selection of toiletries in the room. There used to be a free mini bar but this changed since my last stay however there is still free tea and coffee in the room. Floors in rooms can be a little noisy so helpful to take your shoes off so you don't disturb your neighbours!

Reception staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate for me with a range of meats and cheeses, breads and pastries, fresh fruit and even a small amount of scrabbled egg, bacon and pancakes with Nespresso coffee and fruit juices.

I ate in the hotel once during each stay and found the food and service good. My only disappointment is I would have loved to have eaten the the Michelin restaurant Neichel but it closes Sundays and Mondays so both times did not get to sample it.

Wifi is free in reception and bar area and depending on your room rate may be included in your room or you have to buy it.

Overall a very good hotel
