“Excellent service and stay”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

The rooms are spacious and the free bottled water is a nice touch. As with all Renaissance hotels the service was first class and the food in the restaurant excellent.
We were there for a week for business meetings and I would hold future events at this hotel if the opportunity arose. It is a small walk from Las Ramblas but there are many excellent restaurants and attractions very close.
The Terrace bar on the 8th floor is a great location for a relaxing drink.
There is also a well stock gym where a decent work out is possible.
On the whole a very positive experience.

Room Tip: Take a drink on the terrace bar as opposed to the lobby bar as the atmosphere is calm and there isa...

Hotel is updated and modern with all needed amenities. The staff was very helpful and spoke English readily. There was very good buffet breakfast included and lovely bar for evening relaxation. The hotel is close to the city center with easy access to transportation and attractions without being in the most expensive location. We would definitely stay there again.

Rooms: Large, modern, clean. Huge windows.
True Renaissance...felt a little luxurious (even in standard room).
Bed/pillows: Comfy.
Bottled water provided in room.
Basics: Hair dryer, great soaps/shampoo/etc. provided.
Iron/ironing board in room.
Kettle in room.
Mini frig in room.
WIFI: Not free in room. Available for free in lobby. Easy log on. Worked okay. Lots of comfy seating in large lobby.
Gym: Huge, clean, stocked with cold water. Treadmills. Other cardio machines. Large assortment of free weights. Large TV. Great space for doing yoga, etc.
Staff: All encountered excellent. Gerardo at check-in was awesome. Kind, warm, welcoming. He provided great insight to area and welcomed us to Spain appropriately. Nice start to our stay.
Location: We took train (not metro) from Barcelona Sants to Barcelona Passeig de Gràcia. Few minutes only. Same price as metro.
Two blocks from metro stop: Passeig de Gràcia. (This doubles as train stop as well. Same name.)
One block from: Passeig de Gràcia and its great high-end shopping.
Two blocks from: Casa Batlló.
Five blocks from: Casa Milà.
One block from all noise also. Hotel quiet and safe.

Value: Used points for stay. 40,000 for standard room. Standard room was perfect. No need to use more points.
Overall: For nice room, gym, hotel in great location, good value.

I was in Barcelona on business and needed a quality hotel that was centrally located and good for client meetings. Loved the location and my room was awesome. Wonderful bed, fantastic, bathroom, very high quality amenities, mini fridge, flat screen TV with a really good selection of channels in a variety of languages, small outdoor patio, and high speed Wi-Fi. Arrived at the hotel late in the evening to find a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine on ice and some very nice chocolates and a bottle of water. The check-in experience was one of the best I am ever encountered with wonderful staff who were more than helpful in suggesting many local insights and recommendations. The concierge desk and staff were also extremely helpful and amazing in every way. Hotel features a very nice roof top patio with amazing views of the city. The hotel room rates were slightly more than some of the other high quality hotels I looked at, but I would have to say worth every Euro and more. I look forward to staying at the Renaissance Barcelona the next time I visit the beautiful city of Barcelona!!

Stayed at this hotel for two nights pre Mediterranean cruise. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, contemporary hotel in excellent location. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed the 8th floor patio and free WIFi. Would definitely return.

We booked the Renaissance through Marriott and use our points. A few days before arriving, we received an email from the General Manager asking when we expected to arrive and any special needs. I advised we would like early check in and an upgraded room (not available when using points) and both requests were honored! Getting into the room early after an all night overseas flight was greatly appreciated. The hotel is very well located to the main Avenue in Barcelona as well as a comfortable walk to La Ramblas. We did not eat in the hotel but did have a drink and the size of our cocktails was three times what we expected! The hotel also has an outdoor terrace offering great views of the city. Would definitely stay here again!

We ended up staying at the Renaissance at the conclusion of our Norwegian cruise and would highly recommend the hotel. We took a tour with Norwegian and as this hotel is their partner, we were dropped off at the front door at the conclusion of our tour. Rooms were well appointed and the location was perfect. We were a short walk (downhill) to Catalonia Square where there is much to see and do. It is also a stop for the AeroBus that runs to the airport. (5.9 euro pp every 5 minutes). There is a little market across the street and because the rooms have a fridge, we were able to pick up wine, cheese, etc. as well as prepared salads that were a great price as well as high quality. Remember to take your power converter but if you forget as we did, the front desk gave us one to use. We also took a power strip so we could charge multiple items. Do not miss having a drink on the rooftop lounge as the view is wonderful.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor to get a bit more of a view.
