First off, the location is great, that's probably the best thing going for this place. It's near the ritzy shopping street and it's really easy access the train from here, also fairly centrally located.

The actual property is just ok. If this property were in the US it would probably be a 3.5 star hotel. I understand that Barcelona is a little pricier, but this hotel and Marriott are really overselling it a bit. The rooms are kind of small and not particularly luxurious. The bathrooms are nice though

The breakfast is pretty poor, there's basically eggs and assortment of breads and sometimes a mediocre cheese and meat platter

I'd rather pay a bit more and stay at the W (which we did later that week)

Its a good hotel, well located near metro, bus stations n other important places like catalunya square n la ramblas.rooms r good, enough space, bathrooms gud n well lit.decent breakfast but could b better.their navigator which include mayca n catherine r extremely helpful n suggest the best places n extra tips to see what we r looking at.but I hv one complaint against one of d reception staff..luis..he is rude, doesnt understand things n isnt willing to listen or accomodate.it happened so many times..their other staff ms. Iris is very helpful n wud always clear the confusion in a second.had luis not been thr it wud have been a wonderful experience.

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The location was great - we could walk or take the metro to everywhere. The service was very good, the breakfast was wonderful and the room very large. We would definitely stay here again!

The hotel's location is excellent, within a 15 minute walk of all notable Barcelona tourist destinations. The lobby and rooms are smartly decorated, and the breakfast for Marriott Platinum members is suitable. While these are all positves, I was expecting a bit more. My rate for a room with a "queen size" bed was 275 EUR per night. I am not sure if that is a good rate or not for Barcelona. What I am sure about though is that the bed provided was not "queen size", and my wife and I often bumped into each other. For this much money, I expect to be a bit more comfortable.

The hotel also had to be called to deliver my Platinum welcome gift and clean our room on the 2nd day despite leaving no "do not disturb" sign up. I am not sure if this was a fluke or not, but it is something to be aware of regarding service. On the positive note though, the Concierge and Bellman staff was very helpful. So, perhaps it is sage to assume that Service is quite good.

We had an excellent stay at the Renaissance Barcelona, consistent with other Renaissance hotels we have stayed in during recent trips. Comfortable, modern rooms. Breakfast was great even if the large breakfast room was a little hectic (we were staying over the May 1 holiday weekend). Within short walking distances or easy subway rides of all of Barcelona's wonderful historic sites and neighborhoods.
