Well situated in the Eixample district. Short walking distance to buses, Metro and always a taxi passing by.
Restaurants and bars nearby seem more suited to a local clientel and there are some hidden gems of restaurants and Tapas bars in the neighbourhood as well as good shops.
The hotel is no nonsense clean and efficiently run, with helpfull English speaking staff. Rooms are well equipped. good storage space, quiet, especially the aircon, and with good sized bathrooms. We liked the generous area around the wash basin for placing toilet articles, often lacking in a lot of hotels.
Breakfast was a delight with plenty of choice of fresh fruit, hot dishes and the local ham, cheeses, bread and pastries. We shall stay here again on our next visit.

The Hotel Condado is a modern hotel with comfortable rooms. While they face the main road, you cannot hear the street noise thanks to the two layers of windows. Also, we had never heard our neighbours who tended to be noisy when you did open the door. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were of comfortable size. We had two rooms and found that the corner room had a significantly larger bathroom while the centred room had a regular sized bathroom. The beds were comfortable although they were two single beds pushed together. They needed to be secured as you'd roll over to your partner and the beds would separate as you passed the middle.

The hotel offered endless free bottled water with communal mini-bars placed on each floor. My advice - either get in early otherwise it will disappear, especially in the summer. If you do miss out then there is a mini-bar near the foyer that most people weren't aware of and therefore, had plenty of cold water.

We did find the lighting was not great as there were ill-considered down lights place throughout the room. Also, the Wi-Fi would get overloaded mid morning and disappear altogether which was quite annoying as this was when people naturally needed it for travel, business or social media needs. We found the staff to be hit and miss. Some were friendly while others seemed very officious about everything. I enjoy talking to hotel staff at some establishment but I wasn't overly inspired here.

The location of the hotel was about a good ten minute walk from the metro station and about half an hour from the city centre (La Rumbla). The area is on the city fringe where it meets suburbia so you get a blend of both worlds which is kind of nice. There is a supermerket (market) across the road, if you choose not to get the breakfast option. Also, around the corner there are a few nice cafe options.

All in all, I would be happy to stay at Hotel Condado again, however I would look for something a little closer to the city centre or at least a metro station before picking this hotel.

Room Tip: Get a corner room. Their bathrooms are a lot bigger.

We stayed in Hotel Condado for 3 nights. We were quite pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and the bathroom was of international quality. It exceeded our expectations given the price we paid. There is a night club opposite the hotel, a pub open till late night and across the street you can get home food from a Spanish old lady which is something to cherish. Location is convenient with bus going to Rambles nearby

Room Tip: Ask for backside rooms with a balcony

I used to regularly stay at the Condado about 10 years ago and was interested to see how it had changed following its comprehensive refurbishment.

It used to be very good, now it is excellent, the rooms comfortable and stylish with a lot of useful storage space. All the staff at the Condado are consistently friendly, cheerful and helpful. I was interested to see that in 10 years the team was virtually unchanged, which says a lot about the people and also the management style.

There are a lot of places to eat in the area, the hotel is close to the Diagonal and Passeig de Gracia is just over half a mile walk away.

The buffet breakfast offers a good selection including scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon, pastries, cheese, ham, salami, fruit etc

When I return to Barcelona I will certainly stay at the Condado again and will continue to recommend it to family and friends.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter and have a balcony.

Travelled with my boyfriend in August. This was a modern hotel, clean, with friendly hotel staff (I particularly remembered Carlos). Rooms were equipped with very basic amenities, which was more than we could ask for (except is you need an iron, you need to ask from the reception). The beds were comfortable. We got a room for standard double bed and it was a little small compared to a room with twin beds (pushed together) - we stayed here for about 5 nights in total - during the beginning and at the end of our trip.

The location was great - 15 minutes walk to Diagonal Station and additional 5 minutes the Passeig de Gracia. There are good places to eat (The restaurant opposite the hotel sells 1 Euro for everything on the menu a couple days a week!)

The lobby was comfortable too, very nicely decorated with vending machines and free printing services.

We got a room facing the back, so it was pretty quiet at night, although we didnt get the street view.

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Condado for one night, the service was very good. The hotel staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The room was very clean with all the amenities you would expect. The room was quite contemporary and great value for money. The location is also very good, close to Gracia metro station and La Diagonal.

The hotel was very modern and clean with extremely helpful hotel staff.

Rooms were decently sized with a contemporary design.

Good location as only a 15 minute walk away from Diagonal station where there are many restaurants as well. Also located close to Passieg de Gracia with some more high-end shopping areas and nicer restaurants.

Free use of hotel computers as well as access to a printer if you are doing a bit of on-the-fly vacation planning while you're there.

We enjoyed our time there and have stayed there twice already!

Enjoy :)

Room Tip: If you're travelling as a couple, make sure to ask for a Queen sized bed instead of two Twin bed...
