“comfortable and convenient”
Reviewed 14 April 2014

This is a comfortable hotel with pleasant rooms, helpful staff and a good breakfast buffet. The hotel is conveniently located for sightseeing, with several 'Modernista' buildings within easy walking distance and the 'Sagrada Familia' and Placa de Catalunya not far away.'Diagonal' Metro station and bus stops are close by. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the area.
The only drawback is that the hotel is sometimes full of noisy coach parties!

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are less noisy.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions, we are pleased that the hotel has met all your expectations, especially in the comfort and location. We know that in a small size hotel when there are a lot of people get noticed, but our idea is to always try to offer a personalized service. Thanks for sharing your experience and we appreciate your trust. Regards. Carlos

We stayed here for 2 nights on our railway journey to Morocco. The first night we arrived latish and ate in the hotel which was fine although we were alone in the dining room. We had an excellent next day in Barcelona, the hotel is in a very good position and you can walk through the Passeig deGracia and visit La Pedrera, then onto the Ramblas. We made a detour to the Cathedral and had lunch in a cafe serving only sausages. We continued along the Ramblas to the sea and had a taxi to the Sagrada Familia from where we walked back to the hotel. The guy behind reception recommended a nearby tapas restaurant whcih was excellent. Unfortunately, due to the bad behaviour of a group of Italian students also staying in the hotel - shouting, whistling, trying doors, knocking on doors, we had a very very poor nights sleep and as we had to up fairly early to catch our onward train this did rather marr our visit. The company organising our trip have taken this up with the hotel, but,as ,have heard nothing back. On this basis, I could not recommend it to other travellers.

Dear Ginniel, sorry for the inconvenience caused by noise, we know that your stay was not to your liking, but we also know that the hotel itself was what you were looking for recognizing our staff and a good situation. This time coincided a group of young students who have suffered all, a very exceptional situation. We hope you will give us a second chance and we can all enjoy.Regards.Carlos

The best thing about La Pedrera is the location! It is centrally located in the heart of Barcelona, close to La Rambla which has great plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed here for 3 nights and were able to walk to nearly all the major tourist attractions- gothic quarter, beaches, Picasso museum (la sagrada familia and park guell are slightly further away but easy to get to by metro- we brought a T10 pass which can be shared and entitles you to 10 journeys on the metro)

Our room at La Pedrera was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. The room had tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and a hair dryer (which was really awful) The shower was brilliant. It is worth mentioning that the walls are very thin and there was quite a bit of noise i.e chairs scrapping, doors being opened.

The breakfast buffet had lots to choose from- cooked breakfast, cereals, pastries etc.. The food was basic, but for the price we only expected this.

On the downside the staff, unfortunately, were incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming (to a point where it was funny) Also if you want to be able to have a drink in the hotel, the bar area is pretty horrible.

Overall, what I would say is if you are looking for a luxurious hotel La Pedrera is certainly not the hotel for you. It is a budget hotel, in a brilliant location with everything you need, and despite the negative points I have mentioned, we wouldn't have any trouble staying here again if we returned to Barcelona.

we recognize that we have not surprised that your satisfaction has been expected, therefore, not surprising final assessment. Anyway appreciate your positive feedback and improve on those details that did not like, we are certainly not a luxury hotel, but our treatment, services and aspects like comfort and cleanliness should always be the most prominent.Regards.Carlos

The location was excellent within walking distance of everything you could possibly want and/or see. Metro stop very close (Diagonal station is about 5 minutes or less walk from the hotel). Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. Room was slightly smaller than expected but cosy. Wifi was at a good speed but we kept loosing signal.

Overall our stay was good but wouldn't consider this hotel to be a 4 star its more like a 3 star

We stayed for three nights at this hotel in October 2013 and found it to be a bit above average for what we were expecting. The rooms, although none had views, were adequate in size and comfortable. The airconditioning was comfortable and easily controlled and was efficient. With three lifts in operation it was always easy to get up or down from the sixth floor. We found all the staff pleasent and extremely helpful when asked. A good walk from the centre, but an interesting one. I found the air quality in Barcelona particulalry bad and this detracted from the experience. Not far from a tube station and a short walk to the famous Sagrada Familia. Plenty of decent, some expensive, restaurants in the area. I would recpmmend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to be too near the bottom half of Las Ramblas. Comfortabl;e homely and decent food.
