So lucky to have chosen this hotel! The staff is genuinely helpful and accommodating. Internet didn't work well for us and our room was changed to the ground floor where we had a lovely bright room #006 with a patio. Which was perfect for having snacks and a bottle of wine with the friends who accompanied us. (Wine at the market across the street from the hotel is terrifically cheap and surprisingly good)

When you check in you'll have separate internet access for each device, the desk will print this (save that) you'll relog every time; just make sure to retype the password even if its saved in your browser.

We took the airport shuttle down a floor from customs to Placa Catalunya, from there take the L7 subway to El Puxtet. Cross the street and left a little to a set of stairs down into a well lit alleyway if you come after dark and at the end to your right is the hotel.

The continental breakfast served by the hotel is comprehensive, delicious and the price is predicatable 15 Euros, not too much for the quality! The buffet style meal has a variety of dried meats and cheeses, fruits, boiled egg, breads and a toaster...plenty of jams too. The coffee machine is out of this world to someone who only knew Starbucks before the trip.

The room itself is European simple elegance, nothing fancy but Comfortable. The mattress was firm, plenty of pillows and covers. We turned off the heat in June and left the door open to air it out while we took the hop on and off tours.

We would stay here again with no hesitation. Our stay in Barcelona in this hotel gave us a view of Catalan life that we would never have experienced staying closer to the city center. We learned firsthand about the subway system, those maps are helpful but don't be afraid to ask questions. In our experience we did not run into many English speakers in this neighborhood but it was no problem communicating. Leave your attitude at home and Prepare to Relax here!

Room Tip: The rooms we saw were all comfortable and nice looking but I would always ask for the ground floor with patio and book in advance! Bring earplugs if little noises would disturb you because sound carries on the ground floor, but its not noisy by any means....

We are very glad to know that you had such an amazing experience. Yes, the great thing about being in this cozy neighbourhood is that you are able to see the true catalan life but without being far away from the city center. We thank you for taking the time to write down your opinion and really appreciate your comment. We hope to see you again!

We stayed for two nights - the hotel is very average. The first room we stayed in was on the first floor and the carpeting in the hallway looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The hotel was sold out so we ended up in a smoking room which although we were told the hotel was 100% non smoking a week before smelled like an astray. Thankfully the front desk manager took pity on us and we were moved to a much nicer room for our second night. The wifi worked about 50% of the time so I could not write this review until we had departed. I personally wont stay here again but If you get a new room this property is OK, if you get an older version it isn't.

Good afternoon, first of all we would like to thank you for taking 5 minutes to write a review, on the other hand we are sorry that you're stay wasn't quite as expected.
In relation to the carpet in the first floor, we assure you that it is clean, the thing is that there are stains that won't go, buy eitherway, we are taking the necessary measures to substitute this carpet for a new one. Thank you again, best regards.

This hotel is a good deal for a weekend trip in Barcelona, we found. Rooms and service are fine. Shower is nice and there's a minibar.
Just in front of the hotel is a grocery store and around the corner you'll find an indoor market with supermarket and a little furhter the metro station El Putxet. Only metro line L7 stops here with 15 minute intervals. The ride to Place Catalunya, where you can hop onto other lines, is 12 minutes.
In the neighbourhood of the hotel are plenty good restaurants, f.e. La Taula and Vasi next door (see our reviews).
The free wifi they advertise with only is available in the reception area, and you need to ask a login code at the reception.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the back side to make absolutely sure you'll have a quiet room.

Very close to the metro station which gives you a very easy access to the center, and also there are some small grocery shops from where you can buy things you need, also a market. The neighborhood is nice, silent unless they do some work on the road, but in that case they will bother you with the noise only during working hours. The rooms are not very spacious, with old and worn furniture. The breakfast is not very diverisfied.

We enjoyed the Silken hotel. The room was very nice and updated, loved the modern bathroom and simple furnishings. Stayed on the 4th floor and the worst part was the rather rambunctious glee club (most likely college students) who took over the floor and were pretty loud.

The neighborhood was nice and apparently kind of the ritzy part of town. Seemed like the equivalent of Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood with the same access to downtown. There was a convenience store directly across the street with cheap soda, wine and water so don't dare touch that mini bar!

Basic European style breakfast of assorted cold-cuts, cheeses, pastries, cereal, yogurt and fruit. You could also order a basic omelet. The bartender made all of my cafe au laits for me, he seemed to despise the idea of me using the Keurig machine, which was fine with me. Also their coffee with milk is the equivalent of the American $4 latte but for free!

The location was convenient, and if weather had been nicer, we would have walked the neighborhood more. But it was unseasonably cool and rainy so we hopped the train #7 to Las Ramblas every day/night.

About a 10 minute walk from the hotel was a stop on two different tourist bus lines. If you plan to utilize the trains and sightsee, there is some type of pass that for about $40 Euros allows you to use all of the public tran while getting free admittance to many of the museums! Wish we'd figured that out our first day instead of our last night. Also, it's almost never worth it to purchase train passes ride by ride, as you can't transfer to other lines (got a bit confusing). Go ahead and get the 10-ride that allows you to transfer between trains, buses, etc. all throughout the city.
