Royal Ramblas Hotel

Our family loved our stay at the Royal Ramblas. It was our first time in Barcelona, and we were fortunate enough to choose this hotel with its excellent location, clean, modern rooms, and comfortable beds. We had our two daughters with us and had a room with one king bed and two twin beds separated by a wall. The breakfast, though not included in our rate, was excellent. Only a few issues: the light bulb in the shower was burned out when we arrived (replaced the next morning), and the whirlpool bathtub had several loose metal discs at the bottom (our girls were still able to use the tub - we just had to take off the disks). It also seemed that the a/c didn't get as cool as we wanted. In total, this hotel is a great choice for Barcelona and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a view of the Ramblas. Ask first if this is important to you.

Just spent a week at this hotel. It was great. This low key hotel among the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas is perfect. We had a high floor. Our room was clean, modern and quiet (was concerned it would not be based on some reviews). We had nice view of the city. The staff was excellent. Free wi-fi was acceptable. Ramblas is the Barcelona version of Times square in NYC, which would normally make us cringe, but not in this case. Location is very central to everything...subway, historic district, restaurants, beaches, shopping, bus to airport...Perfect, would stay there again without hesitation.

Room Tip: High floor. View.

My husband & I went here for a mini break after our wedding and it was just perfect.

The location was excellent for a walk along the famous strip, for jumping on a bus to sight see and even a walk to the beach.

The hotel was clean, friendly & very helpful. The rooms were cleaned every day and a lovely size for a city break. Breakfast in the hotel was lovely buffet (15 euros each) but a little pricey. If you are like me & cant eat a lot in the morning would suggest taking a 3 minute walk to the local market for fresh fruit juices.

Make sure you explore all the little tapas bars on the strip as the food is traditional Spanish food & not expensive. I would suggest not eating in any place that tries to pull you into eat as they are more pricey & the food is not great.

We cant wait to go back and will def dtay at this hotel again.

nice hotel, nice rooms and.....graet location , on the Ramblas, the hart of Barcelona
good beds and nice rooms . ask room on the front so you overlook the Ramblas
breakfast excellent but I gave 60/100 because the terrible service of check-in lady
we asked her the directions of Picasso museum ," just to right on the ramblas 5-10 min walk",
she didnot offer a map , she was totally not interested in her clients. The walk is abt 15-20
minutes and only a few hunder meter on the Ramblas and than to the left, Als she never
told us that the prepaid internet codes were inside the cover of the roomkeycard, I found out
just before leaving.
They have english TV canals, but you have to push a special button, but nowhere in the
room there was any indication how to do that. We didnot know and we looked at all kind of
spanish canals, but very slumpy from the management.
A real pitty as with the same tools, they could get better rating

Room Tip: ask for a room in the front

If you want to be in the centre of Barcelona madness - this is the hotel for you. It's central location is fantastic - right on Las Ramblas. We were four floors up and had no problem with noise from the street below. Our room was a premier one which was quite comfortable. Breakfast was very good and was served on the second floor. We were up early enough each morning to dine at a window over-looking Las Ramblas. Each and every one of the staff at this hotel were extremely friendly and could not have been more helpful. Barcelona has so much to offer. We got the two day ticket for the Barcelona City tour bus - it worked out much cheaper. Much nicer places to eat on the side streets off Las Ramblas

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors are better - no noise from street

IMHO this hotel is just right for Barcelona. It's not glamourous, 5 star quality, but who needs that, when you're smack-bang in the centre of this very exciting city? What you do want, particularly in Barcelona, is a place that's quiet, with good air-con, clean and central. And that is exactly what Royal Rambles gives you. We paid a little more for Ramblas views which is great for people (and pick-pocket!)-watching, but not noisy, due to double glazing. At 150 euros per night it's not cheap, but I doubt you can do better without compromising on comfort etc. Didn't really use any hotel facilities and I wouldn't bother with breakfast, when everything you need is at your doorstep. Thanks to tripadvisor for finding this place for us!
Shopping tip: If you are a non-EU resident, you can get a 10% discount card from El Corte Ingles for a whole day's shopping (and you can still claim VAT back after!). Just head to customer services before you shop and ask for you discount card. After splashing out return their for your VAT certificates. Happy spending! :-)

Room Tip: Ramblas views are worth the extra money and are not noisy (as one might fear), even on the "fir...
