Situated right on the Ramblas, you couldn't want a better location, though you pay for it. €914 for 4 nights. There is no luxury for this price, just a nice room with excellent double glazing, comfortable bed, flat screen TV (Spanish channels only), air conditioning and a good-sized bathroom with poor quality toiletries. Items from the mini-bar extra. All in all, the equivalent of a good B&B in the UK.
There is a supermarket a couple of minutes away so buy your bottled water and milk for tea there and store them in the mini-bar. Plenty of breakfast options in the Ramblas, so no need for a €15 hotel breakfast.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms give good views of the city if you are at the front.

Location is the biggest thing this hotel has going for itself - and they seem to know it too!

I stayed at this hotel from May 8th till May 13th - booked my double room with breakfast 6 months ago - they charged me EUR 224 (plus additional Tourist Tax!) per night including breakfast - and when I asked if they could deduct 1 breakfast from my bill for the morning of checkout (we had to leave for the airport at 7 am but breakfast doesn't start till 8am!!!), they said they couldn't do this because we got "a special rate"?!?!?! However the prepared a crappy inedible lunchbag for us, value EUR 7 max., thanks for nothing!

Basically the Hotel would be ok locationwise, the room was also not bad, TV you can forget - but who wants to watch TV in Barcelona anyway. Staff was friendly, just the breakfast room is a mess every morning - they leave tables dirty for long periods of time, and are very slow with refilling the self service buffet. Room cleaners seem to have a habit of knocking at the door once and entering immediately - could get quite embarrassing in certain situations I guess - but maybe that is just part of the cleaners amusement to startle and surprise guests in their privacy.

This could be a great hotel, especially with it's convenient location, but unfortunately points need to be taken off for their high room rates, and their greediness when it comes to charging for things you are given no chance to consume even (I think they intentionally start breakfast only at 8 so that a lot of people have no chance of enjoying it).

I choose this hotel by Booking.com and asked a early check-in and a room in a high floor and a nice view - for the street for instance.
They did it all oppositte. They put me in a ground floor with windows viewing to the internal parts of the building. Awful.
The location is perfect anyway - actually the best thing.
Nothing else to say. And don't go during the formula 1 race, the prices are high in the sky.

Room Tip: It worth by the location.

This is the perfect base for a few days in Barcelona. Hotel room was excellent. Location brilliant. Free WiFi Internet a bit patchy, so worthwhile getting a SIM card with data.. but the buffet breakfast excellent. Will definitely return to this hotel.
