This is our first trip to Barcelona and we found this hotel to be perfectly located. Only 5 min walk from Las Ramblas and around the city. Our room is a corner room and is really quite big, its tripple the size of other places we have stayed in spain and very comfortable. The rooftop pool and balcony area is great for the afternoon sun. The staff are friendly and very helpful in giving directions to local attractions

My wife and I went for a short city break. We read the reviews and were confident we'd have a good stay but our expectation was surpassed. the staff were superb, even when my wife dropped her ring down the sink. We had a room overlooking the main road but noise wasn't a problem as we were on the 8th floor. The location was good with the metro station outside. The self-serve breakfast was varied and good quality. The pool was very small but we didn't have time to use it anyway. My very minor criticism relates to the sidestreets nearby as they felt a little unsavoury. This did not detract from Barcelona at all.

My husband and I just returned from our (first!) trip to Barcelona, and could not be happier with our experience. The whole trip was perfect, and this hotel played a big part in that. Where to begin?

Location: The hotel is steps away from the L2 and L3 train lines (literally, steps. Like, three), around the corner from La Ramblas, and moments away from city centre. The neighborhood felt perfectly safe, without feeling too "sanitized." Everything we could need was within a block or so.

Value / comfort: We found the pricing to be very reasonable, and the amenities to be more than sufficient. The room was not terribly small - certainly smaller than most American hotel rooms that we're used to, but we had ample space for our things and were very comfortable. The room was VERY clean and looked like an IKEA showroom - clean, modern lines. I appreciated the laminate flooring - carpeted hotel rooms can feel a little icky. The bathroom was very nice, with excellent water pressure and a very comfortable bathtub. There was a very large window above our bathtub, and every night I took a glass of wine in there, opened the window, and enjoyed the night sky. Our bed was on the firm side for my taste, but my husband was in heaven. I prefer a softer bed, but I slept very well. The linens were crisp and, I thought, very luxurious for the price point.

Restaurant: We had breakfast included with our stay, which I would pesonally recommend. The breakfast selection is not large, nor particularly healthful, but for a small increase in price, it was nice to know our first meal of the day was taken care of. My husband did have dinner down there one night while I was napping, and enjoyed it. We also ordered room service and were very pleased.

Other Amenities: My husband used the pool once, but it was early in the morning and still on the chilly side. The rooftop terrace is lovely and offers a wonderful view of Barcelona. Our one gripe was that they closed the terrace every evening at 8pm, which is too early to catch a decent sunset in the summer. We would suggest locking the pool area, but perhaps keeping the terrace open another hour. They did have a workout room, but I am not that dedicated. For those who want to use it, it's there. :)

Staff: The entire staff was wonderful. They helped us clarify directions to various sights around town, suggested restaurants, and held a package for me that arrived prior to our check-in. When it was time for us to leave, they were prompt with our wake up call and taxi, printed our boarding passes, and even double-checked our terminal so we wouldn't have to walk too far when the taxi dropped us off.

Draw-backs: Honestly, I can't really say there are any. It just depends on your preferences and outlook. Would I have preferred a softer bed? Yes, but that's just my preference. Some people may not like the location - it is not in a "ritzy" part of town, but that's one of the main reasons we liked it. Our windows faced the terraces of the apartment building just across the alley, but neither of us were bothered by that in the least. I'm sure if we'd requested an outward facing room, they would have accommodated our request. We live in a city ourselves, and understand close quarters. It got loud on two evenings, but that's what earplugs are for.

We're hoping to go back to Barcelona again, and would absolutely stay at this hotel in the future, as well as recommend it to friends or family.

We stayed in this hotel for Bruce Springsteen concert at the Olympic Stadium.

Good Points:

The hotel is in a ideal location for touring around Barcelona. There are pickpockets everywhere you go in Barcelona and if you have a bit of savy and be careful with your belongings you won't interest them. They want a easy catch! We walked from the Olympic Stadium (30/40 mins) to the hotel no bother at 2am. The Paral-lel metro stop is literally outside the door of the hotel, which takes you anywhere you want to go in Barcelona.
The hotel staff are extremely nice and helpful. The hotel is very clean and has everything one needs for a break away. We didn't get to the pool area so I can't comment on that.

Bad Points

The worst part of the hotel for us was the room. Although very clean and very well equipped it had no natural sunlight. There was a frosted window in the room when opened the view was of a squared tiled area with a roof on it (Don't know what it was really!) We had to run to the lobby every morning to check what it was like outside. The room was always dark and depressing. Also running through the inside of the room behind the wall was the waste water pipe from the room upstairs so when ever those people used the toilet or a shower we could hear the water running down that pipe and it was loud! We didn't have breakfast in the hotel €15 per person, just 50m out main door and turn left there are restaurants that do breakfast for half the price!

Overall I would recommend this hotel to all but ask for a room with a view of outside and no water pipe running through it.
We traveled from Barcelona airport by the RENFE to Barcelona Sants (approx 20mins) where we changed to the L3 green line and got the metro to Paral-lel stop (approx 7 mins) exit out the Sant Pau exit and you will be right outside the hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window looking outside and with no waste water pipe from room upstairs
