“Location is Key”

This was our first hotel of many on a Europe honeymoon, and I am glad we started off here! The rooms were clean, the staff was helpful and the location was awesome. Our friends live in Barcelona and I sort of picked this hotel on random based on reviews. Lo and behold, we were within 15 minutes max walking distance of our friends, tons of restaurants and harbor. Only semi complaint is based on our own sheer ignorance. It took us forever to learn how to use the lighting because never have had to use a card before as a switch. :) We were close to the street which wouldn't have been a problem but, being there for Summer Solstice...wow. Still really nice place.

Excellent location and good value for what you get. Next to the subway station which makes it so convenient. Breakfast is amazing and served in a very nice room and terrace (weather permiting). In terms of comfort, little would need a little TLC as carpets, towels and linens are getting a little tired... Staff at the front desk spend more time chating between themselves in the back office (people waiting in line, phones rigning and staff holding footbal conversations in the back... this happened more than once).
Hotel probably living out of its popularity... still a good value.

Room Tip: Junior suites are very convenient.

As a group of three lads around 24-25 we spent a total of 7 nights here (12th July until the 19th July 2014) and overall we were delighted with the facilities on offer to us. When booking the trip we managed to get a deal on our room which equated to the same price for a hostel that we had looked at! So at the time, it was a no brainier to book this hotel. It turned out to be a fantastic location - La Rambla is a 10 minute walk away, and the beach is around 15 minutes walking distance.

We had a triple room, which was very clean upon arrival and was very cool (once we discovered how to turn on the air conditioning). The bathroom was very nice, and there was an HD TV in the room as well as a safety deposit box to store our valuables in. I put everything in there so that my mind was at rest when walking about the town (pick pockets etc, although they weren't a problem for us.). The hotel staff were very helpful when answering our questions. We wanted to go to one of the beaches north of the city, and the guy at the desk told us exactly how to get there - and advised us of a very nice yacht club where we could have lunch. We also wanted to visit the water park at Port Adventura - again the guy at the desk advised us that we could purchase both our train and entry fee at Barcelona Sants station at the ticket desk. This was invaluable advice because we were quoted 45 euro's for a bus trip there, but ended up only paying 28 euro's - essentially it's a free return train there when buying at the station.

The mini bar was also well equipped with beer, soft drinks and confectionery, although as an aspiring athlete I let my mates eat and drink it all!

There is also a nice cafe, built into the hotel which provides a good starting point for dinner if you arrive late in the evening and are hungry which serves things like pizza, tapas etc. We ate there the 1st two nights as it was a brilliant spot to watch the 3rd place play off and the World Cup Final - little bit of an atmosphere as well. The waiters were very nice here as well.

All in all this was one of my favorite holidays, and my experience of Barcelona was enhanced by the hotel staff. Definitely book a room here if you're planning to visit Barcelona! We will be sure to book again here next time, which hopefully will coincide with a La Liga game this coming season. Take me back to Barcelona now!

Room Tip: Watch out for the tourist tax that you have to pay at the end of your stay, probably applicable in m...

This hotel really doesn't deserve it's 4 star title. Sure it's at a competitive price, which is great, but this place really nickels and dimes you. For example, I called room service to see if they could grab me some ice, since the fridge in the room was absolute garbage (No freezer and didn't even work properly), and they said they would charge me 1€, so I went and got it myself. Secondly, I wanted to weigh my suitcase before I left for Heathrow, where they really get on your case for being a pound or two over the weight limit. Turns out the hotel charged 1€ per bag for simply weighing it on a scale. This sort of cheap attitude from supposed four star hotels really discourages me from staying there again. Not to mention the old dated look in the rooms and washrooms, and the horrendous wifi reception. Lastly, the room planning in the hotel was just sad. So many rooms so far away from all elevators. Just terrible. Will definitely be choosing another hotel if I'm staying in Barça for more than a day!

We spent 5 nights here at the start of July .
Excellent location, literally a 20second walk to parar-lel metro station which we used a lot to get around the city using a ten trip ticket - worth every penny of the extremely well priced ticket. Very safe and easy to use.
We used the aero-bus from the airport to placa espanya and then walked down to the hotel but we should have just used the Metro and got off at parar-lel which is a few minutes ride away.
Hotel was a 5/10min walk to la rambla - straight down the street and you are there. We walked down here late evening and found it very safe.
Hotel was clean, tidy, safe with welcoming staff. Late check until 6pm is available for €20.
Would definitely use this hotel again and recommend to others.

Stayed here for 5 nights, room was clean and functional had everything we required including a safe. This hotel is all about location, there is a metro stop literally 30 seconds from the hotel (buy a t-10 travel pass for cheap multi person travel, the metro was excellent, very efficient). Outside was a taxi rank where you could find a taxi most of the time if you require one. We used this to the hotel, we travelled during the day on a weekend and it cost 29 euros, on return to the airport it cost 23 euros as we travelled back on a weekday. You can walk to Las Ramblas in about 10 minutes which was great. The breakfast in the hotel is well worth getting if you can, it was great value as we booked with the room, there is something for everyone in the breakfast room. You could also eat outside which was nice. Overall the hotel offers great value for money and comes highly recommended. The only flaw is that the wi-fi was rubbish on the rooftop.

Room Tip: High as you can away from road noise.

Just to the west of the heart of the city and the beaches, just next to Montjüic with lovely gardens - this hotel is really well situated. It has comfortable, clean air-conditioned rooms with minibar and toiletries provided - and good wifi reception. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff. It is right by the Paral-lell metro station, which means everywhere in the city is easy to get to - although there is plenty within walking distance. Highly recommended.
