Spent in this hotel 4 days. Not a good start with some misunderstandings on the booking between the Hotel and Booking.com, no room available but fixed thanks to some flexibility shown by receptionist.

Spacious and clean rooms, ok bathroom, a nice thus rather small swimming pool on the roof thus withn a well though of terrace arrangement. ENough for kids to have a swim time and adults to sun tan a bit.

Breakfast a bit basic but

Room Tip: our room was on the 3rd and was ok.

Booked a 1 night stay prior to our cruise and after traveling by plane for almost 20 hours to get here was a big disappointment. The photos and reviews on the web-site are mis-leading. The rooms were small and old/dirty. The pool is tiny and the deck around the pool is in need of maintenance. The front desk staff would not do any early check in and told us 2 PM when this web site said 1 PM.

Walked down the street to the Hotel B and got a way nicer room for the night in a new Hotel for $155 euros...less the Onix Fira. Will let Chase Bank fight with the hotel to get my money back.

We found this hotel at short notice. We stayed 2 nights 30-31st may 2014. Upgrading to a superior double gavd us a spacious room with a balcony and a view over Juan Miro park. Breakfast was the usual continental buffet style. No tea and coffee in the room but tbere is a vending machine in reception, beware the coffee with milk comes out very sweet! Good location but a little pricey, though it was a late booking.

Room Tip: Superior room is bigger and get one overlooking the park because the view toward Tibidabo is worth i...

This hotel is literally across the street from the Arenas shopping center, the Metro subway system and 2 blocks from the AeroBus airport shuttle service stop and pick up station. Location is excellent. The rooms are ordinary with no frills. For two persons occupying the room, you get two bath towels and two hand towels - period. No extras unless you ask for it. The hotel website offers free use of bicycles but they have only 4 bicycles for 80 rooms. Under "Amenities" on the website, they say, "Select our daily breakfast served till 10AM". It is not free, as they will charge you 7.80 Euro/person for breakfast. Also, if you show up at 9:30AM the breakfast items are slim pickings, as the women working there don't restock to breakfast offerings and have an attitude that you should eat what's there, yet still charge you full price for a poorly stocked breakfast. The older gentleman who works the front desk during the morning shift tends to do as little as possible to help you or answer your questions. He makes you feel as though you are imposing upon him even if you are the only one standing at the front desk. He provides very little service to hotel guests and has an attitude that he doesn't want to be bothered by you. The afternoon and night staff are friendlier and more helpful, taking the time to listen to you and answering your questions. Overall experience at the hotel (7 days) was at best, OK. The best thing about the hotel is not the hotel but its location to everything. So if you can tolerate the sub-standard service and average hotel amenities, it will be a good place to stay, just for its prime location.

Room Tip: Get a room that is not facing the Arenas shopping center, its a bit quieter. However, noise travels...

It is very helpful for us to receive this kind of comments, so we wants to thank you for it because it motivates us to keep improving.
Let me inform you we are working hard to get a better the service at the front desk, being friendlier and more helpful. It is very good to know that most of our staff has covered your needs.
About our breakfast, please accept my apology and be sure we will change it too. About the information in our website, please note that it doesn't offer a free breakfast; the idea is invite our guests to reserve it. Anyway we will recheck the way it is expressed.

We hope to welcome you a very near future and that you not only feels satisfied about our location but also of our service and hospitality.

Kind regards,

Went for 8 nights with my girlfriend, had a nice room (415) with a small balcony overviewing the beautiful park which i highly recommend visiting, especially for the cute little green parrots living in the palms. The hotel is very close (2-5min walk) to many good restaurants, the metro, a big mall and the Plaza Espanya where the airport shuttle bus stops. Good and clean hotel with a nice bathroom and minibar fridge for cold drinks, wifi signal was good. The beds were a bit on the soft side, the matresses could use changing as my back sunk in and really had no support (I am 75kg) The park in front of fhe hotel is used by alot of dog owners as a meet and play kind of thing so if you don't like dogs barking, then this is a hard sell ;) but you kind of get used to it. The walls are pretty thin and you hear alot of beds being moved when the cleaners make the beds, you get used to this too. Breakfast was ok with various breads, cheese, ham, sausages, egg cake, juice, youghurt, dougnuts, and various coffee options from the machine. There could have been a more exciting choice and varietty of items like some fresh melon or more kinds of ham. The service in the breakfast room could have been more welcoming, not many smiles from the staff and sometimes it seemed it was an annyance having people eating there. Though they made sure to ask for your room number everyday to check if you paid or you werent just walk-ins, it seemed a bit annoying that they couldnt just remember you and see that you were there for long, maybe I am just used to holiday resort having people smiling more and remembering you. Overall though it was a good experience and a good base to see the city from.

Room Tip: 415 was facing the park.

This hotel is very good value for money. Is very near to center of Barcelona, and was so clean. The breakfast was above the average. Nice view, you can see the near plaza. We stayed August 2012. The only negative was the pool....nothing special.

The Onix Fira hotel is a decent hotel. I booked a last minute holiday with my boyfriend to Barcelona 2 days before we where due to fly.
We struggled to find accommodation close to the main square that was within our budget. Onix Fira came slightly over budget but the hotel Itself is lovely and clean. However it is not what is expected on the images that were shown on booking.com.
The hotel is exceptionally clean and to a good standard. The room sizes are decent. We upgraded to an extra large double room and it was perfect. The beds are comfortable. Furthermore the bathroom is of a good size.
The only downside of the hotel is probably the location. Although the metro is easily to use, there is not a great deal in the area. I would suggest taking the lift to the top of the Arena Barcelona situated around the corner from the hotel for the panoramic views of the square but also there is several restaurants to eat at for a decent price. The hotel staff were lovely and very welcoming. They dealt with any issues quickly and additionally gave us help and advice on places too see and getting round the city

For a last minute holiday, I can't complain as trying to find a hotel in Barcelona was extremely difficult that didn't require a shared bathroom

However the price I paid for the hotel was extremely expensive for the location and especially for a 3 star hotel. Maybe if we booked in advance the price would have
