We stay there for three nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Our room on 5th floor with balcony was with a spectacular view to Sant Pau hospital- just great !
The room clean and big enough.Bathroom comfortable and clean. Breakfast good .We also recommend the cafeteria the next door from the hotel. Just 10 min walk to Sagrada Familia.
And from the bus stop just opposite the hotel with bus 92 you can reach in 15 minutes Park Guell.

We stayed there for four nights. The staff were very friendly. The room we had (2nd floor) didn't have a balcony but it had a direct view to the old part of the Sant Pau hospital which is a UNESCO heritage site. The room and bathroom were fairly big and comfortable. Very clean also. Air-conditioning is available but we didn't need to use it in April. The only issue with this hotel is that walls seem to be made of cardboard - you can very easily hear when your neighbors are having a shower. The windows didn't quite succeed in isolating from the street noise also. The first night it felt quite noisy, but the next nights I didn't have any problem with the noise as we were so tired of walking around Barcelona that it was not a problem to fall asleep at all. The hotel does have a cafeteria next to the reception which also serves as a restaurant - we had dinner there twice. There is a daily menu which is not very versatile but it was very well prepared and a big plus is that the restaurant is open till midnight. We had a late arrival from the airport and we could still have a decent dinner at the hotel. Pricing is very good - 11 EUR per person for a three course meal. Hotel breakfast is also very good although the same every day - continental type... but with some nice additions as fruit salad which was very nice. Free WI-FI access is also available on request at the reception. Barcelona touristic maps are waiting for you in the room and also at the reception. Sant Pau subway station is a 5-minute walk away where you can easily go to the city center in no more than 20 minutes. A bus stop is available just opposite the hotel but we preferred to use the subway. Gaudi's Sagrada Familia is on a 15-minutes walking distance. Overall, the hotel was a very nice experience and the location is just great.

I stayed there for 2 nights. The room was fine and quite warm for the winter. Sometimes we can hear the sound from the street but it's fine. Breakfast was nice and the staffs are friendly. At first, I found it hard to find the hotel from the metro exit, so if you're not sure where you're going, you better take the taxi for the 1st time. But actually after the explanation from the staff, it's just 2 blocks away from the metro. There is also a supermarket & bakery near the hotel. Sagrada Familia is just within a few minutes walk :)

We stayed at the Amrey Sant Pau for two nights. Our room was on the ground floor and wheelchair-accessible. This meant that the shower did not have a rim, so the water flowed all over the bathroom. Also, there was a window right where the shower was. Since we were on the ground floor I could see cars and people passing by my window - I felt like they could see me showering too, so that didn't feel to comfortable.

Also, the hotel isn't very close to the centre. Yes, there is a metro about a five-minute walk away, but I still wouldn't recommend this hotel for a short trip. We of course knew where the hotel was located when we booked it, but we felt like we lost too much time "commuting". A nice sight is the hospital Sant Pau right in front of the hotel - they were remodeling during our stay but it still looked nice.

The room was nice and clean, though. The only thing bothering me a little (besides the shower), was that it was a little dark. There was only little illumination, but since we didn't spend much time in the hotel it was okay for us.

The people at the reception were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Do not take a ground-floor room. Seems like little privacy and noisy (ours faced an intersection).

We stayed at this hotel in July of 2011 for a conference at the nearby University St Pau. We were a little worried at first by the two star rating but the hotel was excellent for the price. I don't know if I have had better value anywhere else. Get a room with a balcony as the view is great and have breakfast included with your room. A great area where we felt safe, day or night and lots of small cafes to eat or have a drink. There are many shops and places to eat within walking distance and cabs are inexpensive in Barcelona (at least compared to Newfoundland). We would stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a balcony and include breakfast with your room.
