“A great respite from the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

We visit Montjuic on our last day in Barcelona and wished we had more time to explore. First of all, the views of the city are expansive and beautiful. Second, there are so many things to see. Third, it feels really nice to be there because it is quiet and so peaceful. So it was a nice break from Barcelona which can be busy and loud. It would also be a nice place for a workout, plenty of green areas and stairs, etc. Making for a nice and fun workout. There are two things to note about this park. The visit could pretty much be broken up into three sections. The visit in the teleferico to the Castle. The visit to the 92 Olympic villa and area and the visit to the Museum of Catalan art and the fountain. Each area is distinct, beautiful and interesting. So if you really want to see everything, plan a whole day or afternoon. I know I will next time.

“Wish we had more time there”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 June 2014

On our tour of the city, we visited, particularly for the view over the city. But there are museums, a re-created Spanish village, cable cars and much more. Certainly worth a half-day, perhaps combined with a half-day in Park Guell?

“Green beauty”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Taking the hike up to Montjuic was one of my highlighs in Barcelona. Beautiful sights, so much green and so many sights to see when you're up there. I definitely recommend Miró's museum, truly a great collection.

And the SIGHT. The sight.

“Great views”

We took the air tram cars up to the top. We had a ball. Great views of the city and the castle is neat also.

“lots to explore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

There are museums and a castle and a recreation of a spanish town (restoration village), and some kind of interesting white tower. The magic fountain is also there; it lights up and plays music from 9-11:30 in the evenings. There is a funicular that runs half way to the castle fort or you can take a tram all the way up for an outrageous 11.50 euros each way. I think there is a public bus that makes a loop up there and back down for 2.15 euros. The highlight for me is the Museum of Catalan Art that is free on Saturdays from 3-6. The whole place, roughly translated as mount of the Jews, was dedicated to the suffering of Jews in Barcelona during the time of the occupation of the Catholic kings and the inquisition.
