“Great hotel”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

We very much enjoyed our stay here - the location is in a quiet residential area of the city but within a few minutes' walk to the station and you can get to the city centre in 10 minutes.
We had a standard double room without a balcony & were impressed by the decor and generous wardrobe space, plus free drinks in the mini fridge and kettle (always welcome!) The hotel staff are very helpful; they recommended a dental clinic nearby when I had to make an emergency visit. The breakfast room is lovely, with a good buffet selection. Overall, we could not find any fault and felt that this hotel is terrific value for money, and would recommend to anyone visiting Barcelona who does not mind not being in the city centre.

We were lucky to stay for 3 nights at this beautiful hotel for my husband's birthday treat. The hotel is approx 20 mins by taxi from the airport and taxi cost €34 to get to hotel late at night on Friday (driver got lost) and cost €30 returning to airport on the Monday evening. You feel like you have entered a luxurious Spa when you arrive at reception and we felt pampered throughout our stay. There are complimentary soft drinks, tea and coffee, biscuits and mixed nuts available which were much appreciated when we arrived at 11pm and we relaxed for an hour in the extremely comfortable Honesty Bar (reminds me of a classy Gentleman's Club). These complimentary Snacks are available 24/7 and croissants and apples are also provided early in the day. The continental breakfast in the bar is fresh and its fine ( fruit, ham, cheese, cereals, hard cold boiled eggs, bread, croissants and pastries) - but the staff are outstanding - so courteous, helpful and completely unobtrusive. Same for reception staff they really are the jewel in this hotel's crown. We used Bus Tuiristic hop on/off tour for two days sightseeing which is recommended; approx €33 per person for 2 days. The closest Bus Tuiristic stop to the hotel is in Sarria which is a15 minute walk away. Hop on/off bus tours are an excellent way to get an overview of the city for first-timers like us. There are 3 routes (red, blue and green) and every route travels in only one direction in a huge loop so if you hop off at one point and hop back on you will always arrive at the next point on the map route and not back in the direction from whence you came. Our room was huge and luxurious and tastefully decorated like the rest of the hotel in classicstyle. Husband was very impressed with the iPhone clock/radio/charging dock by bedside. Pool and garden lovely to relax in just a pityits not open until 12pm. Finally our luggage was stored on our final day after checking out and was able to have shower in the most fantastic shower in the fitness room/gym befor travelling home that evening. Oh and room minibar is also complimentary which is very handy; bottled water and some soft drinks.

Room Tip: We had a Superior room A7 on the top floor and it was magnificent. Spacious, quiet and luxurious. Wo...

We loved the Hotel Primero Primera where we stayed in a junior suite overlooking the pool. When entering our suite, we gasped in surprise at the generous proportions of the rooms. The "up" side of the hotel is its welcoming staff, clever design (a mix of stylish yet traditional), and the bar/sitting room on the ground floor where guests can read and enjoy a drink. We also enjoyed the quiet location where we could leave the doors open in the evening and not have to turn on air conditioning.

The only "down" was the food in the restaurant in the evening where we were served microwave food. We tried it once but then opted to go to some excellent restaurants nearby. The location is also probably not ideal if you want to be in the city - but we travelled easily into the heart of town each day by train - about 10 minutes.

Room Tip: You won't be disappointed with a suite overlooking the pool!

We stayed for 5 nights in the fantastic Apartment room at this hotel. It comfortably accommodated our family of 5. It was stylish, comfortable and clean. The included breakfast was excellent and the included snacks and drinks were a bonus. The facilities (fitness room, computer area, communal areas, pool etc) were all lovely. The staff were incredible - happy to help with all our questions and assisted with travel queries and restaurant suggestions. We would stay at this hotel again without hesitation and will recommend it to others with confidence. We hope to return one day to this exceptionally run and maintained hotel. Mary- Angel was exceptional in her service to our family and so too was the lady at breakfast each morning. Thank you for making Barcelona so special for us!

Room Tip: They would all be great!

We stayed in a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was spacious, tasteful and comfortable. The hotel claims it tries to make a traveler feel as if they are home. I would say they have successfully achieved this goal, and then some! The staff is young and friendly and very professional. It is a very quiet area of the city, so perfect for my husband and me, who prefer to relax in the evening after a long day of hustle and bustle in a big city. You will need to take some type of transportation to and from the city center and major sites. We dined in the area several times, walking distance to some great food. The breakfast has many choices and was a great start to each day. This hotel deserves the tripadvisor excellence award!

Room Tip: I did enjoy having a balcony to sit on in the evening and enjoy a glass of wine.

This was a beautifully decorated and relaxing hotel. Very attractive, roomy, comfortable bedroom. Lovely lounge areas, though extremely quiet. The breakfast was usual continental choices, though good quality. The pool area is quirky and this garden area is really beautiful to sit in in, therefore in my opinion it closes too early in the evening at 8 and opens rather late at noon. The location is well outside the city centre, though the train station ( with metro connections) is about 5 minutes away. The hotel is surrounded by medical centres and residential properties, with a couple of restaraunts a short walk. Though If you walk for about 15 minutes to major De sarria there is a pretty precinct with some shops and cafes and we found some nice places to eat here.

This hotel is simply wonderful, smells divine, gorgeous garden terrace and the best service at reception I have ever received, you feel like you are at home.

Rooms are light and airy and clean and public areas are very very stylish with complementary coffee and snacks available. I can't get over how fluffy and soft my pillow is!

It's a bit out of the centre of Barcelona but we had a car so was perfect as we could easily park it in the garage, the metro is very close as well.

Hiring electric bikes and cycling to the waterfront was very fun but make sure you have wifi! :)
