Location just off Las Ramblas central and easy to get to.
Staff friendly and very helpful.
Good breakfast
Rooms clean and comfortable, with good view of Gaudi's chimneys - extra bonus.
We were'nt there long enough to try the swimming pool.

It was my second stay at the Gaudí, and we loved it even better than the first time. Friendly, welcoming staff; nice, large, clean and modern rooms; free Wi-Fi; but above all, its excellent location and the beautiful view of the Güell Palace (Gaudí's first major building) right across the street.

Right off a very busy section of Las Ramblas, the Gaudí Hotel is walking distance from all major sights, which was exactly what we were looking for. Plaza Real, Liceo, Cathedral, Santa María del Mar, el Borne,... were all no more than 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel (the first 2, just 5 minutes). Maremagnum is also within walking distance and, if you're up for a longer walk, Barceloneta Beach.

The views from our room were wonderful. We had a pretty large balcony that must be wonderful in Spring or Summer (a bit chilly when we were there), and we could almost touch the Güell Palace. The room was clean and large and the bed very comfortable. Our only complain would be that it was a bit noisy in the morning.

Breakfast was very decent, considered it was included, and it has a late schedule (until 11:00), which was very welcome for late sleepers as ourselves.

But the big surprise was the roof-top terrace that will be opening this Spring or Summer. Even if it's not operational yet, it's worth going up there for the incredible views of the whole city (see our pictures). Go there at night as well (it closes at 9:00pm). It has a small hanging swimming-pool where you will be able to relax while enjoying a drink and the view. It's a bit small, so you'll probably have to wait to get your turn in a crowded weekend. But we couldn't enjoy that yet, so we'll have to go back.

Overall, a really nice hotel, with very good rooms and excellent location. A very hard to beat value for money. We'll definitely go there again next time we're in Barcelona.

Room Tip: Definitely get a room with a balcony facing the Güell Palace. Truly worth it, even if you have to pa...

This is the major asset of this hotel. Also, if you come by car, there is a parking cellar under the hotel at 20 eur/day.
The staff is very kind and we had a warm welcoming. The bell boy explained us the facilities and handed over maps and other information. Breakfast fully adequate and fine.
Our room (416) had a balcony, and a good size and bathroom functions well.
The beds could be improved, madrasses somewhat hard! WiFi free and functions well.
La Rambla around the corner. Small grocery stores opposite the hotel and lots of restaurants in the area makes the location perfect.
All in all a nice hotel at a very reasonable Price.

The location of this hotel is fantastic - on a small street just off the Ramblas. It's a nice stroll to the waterfront/port, and there's a subway station just a 2 minute walk away. (The Barcelona metro is great. We used it all the time.) The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. There's a small bar on the main floor where the bartender booked us up supper one night when we didn't feel like going out. The superior rooms with terraces are well worth the extra cost, the upper ones giving a great view of the city. The breakfast, which you have the option of including in the room price, was complete and we were glad to have signed up for it. If you are interested in Gaudi, the latest fully restored example of his work, the Guelle Palace (a rich businessman's mansion) is now open to the public and right across the road.

Having read other reviews I expected better from The Hotel Gaudi. Don't get me wrong, the location is faultess, the room was clean and the secure car park next door (20 euro for 24 hours) was a major plus point and the staff were friendly.....so what was the problem? The room was so small you could just about fit around the double bed, it was unbearably hot in the room even with the heating turned off it was still 28 degrees. The air-con was not working and the window opened onto a small inner courtyard that provided no cooling.
The bed whilst fairly comfortable had pillows fashioned from some form of hard wood so sleep was difficult. However what was most frustrating was the noise transferance from the hall and other guests - yes of course the hotel can not be held responsible for other peoples lack of consideration but I feel they could have done more to stop the screaming kids running up and down the hallways banging on doors in the early hours.
Couldn't wait to get away and was thankful that I was only there for one night.
I'm due to return to Barcelona this month but won't be staying here inspite of the fact that it is so well placed - I'd rather get a better nights sleep and walk a bit further to see the sights.

Room Tip: Take ear plugs and your own pillow!

Loved the location, right off La Rambla & across the street from Palau Guell. Room & bathroom were newly re-done and spacious. We had 4 in our room & it was set up very comfortably for us. Easy to walk to shopping, restaurants, waterfront, etc. Or to the Metro to all of the sights in Barcelona. Staff was very helpful at every turn. Breakfast was good; common computers were not working when we stopped by, but wifi was free throughout the hotel and we did not have any problems accessing wifi in our room. Highly recommend - enjoy the stay!
