Plaza Catalunya Guest House
Ranked #129 of 308 Barcelona B&B and Inns

This is a new B&B with a GREAT location - literally a few steps from Placa Catalunya - so even if you have lots of bags it's a very very short walk from the bus stop to the B&B. Although it has a central location (all the main sights are within walking distance) the rooms are very quiet and peaceful because they face the back.

The rooms are beautiful - the entire house has high ceilings and is well decorated. David & Ana took good care to ensure the place was clean and to make my stay very pleasant. Breakfast is quite delicious and they are happy to help if you need to leave early etc. WiFi is free and there is also a computer that is available.

I had a very pleasant stay and would recommend this place very strongly!

Great B&B in lots of ways. It's very close to where the airport bus stop is in Barcelona city centre (Placa Catalunya) and the Ramblas, but not all at in a noisy area. It's a beautiful building, well designed rooms, really nice bathrooms and breakfast room. The owners, David and Ana were really welcoming, gave me lots of information on what to see and recommended lots of restaurants, really made a difference to my stay. Really highly recommend this place

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this B&B is. David and Ana are consummate hosts -- very professional, knowledgable, and thorough. By the time we left, however, we felt like we had not just gotten to know the professionals running the B&B -- we'd made friends.

My wife & I stayed for 4 nights at Bcn AM and it was truly a memorable experience. After reading all of the other B&B tripadvisor reviews, I was worried about how noisy this central area of Barcelona might be since I'm a very light sleeper. However, Bcn AM is located in the back of the building, away from the hustle and bustle of the street, and I slept like a lamb (if I could sleep through the night, anyone could!). The included breakfast is (dare I say it?) almost too generous -- we were able to fill up and make it through the day until a 3pm lunch with no problem. And the bed....it was so comfy we wanted to take it home. The facilities are all immaculate and get tidied up/cleaned every day. The entire place was spotless. Another perk is how centrally located the B&B is -- less than a 5-minute walk to the metro (really it's 2 minutes, unless you're crawling) and it's situated right on the edge of Placa Catalunya. The bedrooms have their own locks (some other places in Barcelona did not) and you get a key to the house as well as the gated building so it's very secure (and has a front doorman for added security in the daytime).

All of these details aside, it was David & Ana who really made our stay special. They have poured so much love and energy into renovating this property and you can see it in every detail of the home -- from the tiled floors to the original fixtures, to the molded ceilings. We felt like we were in a secret museum in Barcelona that no one else had stumbled upon. Ana's mother was a brilliant, unique, and multi-faceted artist and her paintings and tchotchkes dot the hallways of the home. David & Ana were careful to give us our space and let us relax in the common areas as we wished. But, when we wanted their advice about local restaurants or wanted to talk more about Ana's mother's art, they were more than available for conversation. It was the perfect balance.

You won't regret staying here. If I could give it 6 stars, I would.

Room Tip: We had the room with a queen-sized bed off the sitting area -- not the one off the dining area. But...

Ana & David represent the perfect way to manage a bed & breakfast.
They offer more you can imagine: service, advice, solution to special request.
The B&B is a very elegant 2 floor "liberty style" building located less then 20 meters to "plaça Cataluña",
a smart position if you want to visit Barcelona.
Clean, with a execellent and rich brakfast.
I stronlgly suggest this b&b if you are looking for one in Barcelona.
