“Great location and price”
Reviewed 21 September 2012

I stayed at La Terrassa for 2 nights in early september 2012.
Located in a quiet street, close to the Rambla, it's a perfect stay if you want to be in the middle of the great city. Compared to other budget hotels I stayed in, it is a bit sparse and there is absolutely nothing cozy about the rooms - a bed, a closet and a cold lamp hanging from the roof. Staff is very friendly - speaks good english - so if you only are looking for a clean room with a bed - this is an ok hotel. Next time I will choose to pay a bit for a room.

The La Terrassa hostal is a nice, clean and cheap place in a great location in the center of Barcelona. It is a very simple accommodation with small rooms without any special equipment. The price is good, especially for the great location - just 2 min walk to la Rambla but without the noise of the main street.
The hostal have a free wi-fi for the guests, but it is strong only on the reception flour - few more spots, that can be used in the rooms will make a great difference.
2 main downsides:
1. The hostal is equipped with an elevator, however, you still have to use the stairs for a whole flour just to get to the reception.
2. The walls are thin, very thin - the guests in the room next to ours loved to party, they returned to the room in the middle of the night. Due to the thin walls we heard very well when they returned, when they took shower etc.

Excellent location and close to the metro, as well as being so close to the ramblas, we got the best of both worlds of the quietness as well as the huddle and bustle of the strip.
The room and bathroom was an excellent size and balcony overlooked a lovely road.
The only problem I would say is there were ants in the room but as we were there for only a couple of nights felt there was no need to complain to the staff, Ben though they would be more than attentive and happy to help.

I used to live in BCN so I perfectly know how usually hotels are close to la rambla. This hotel is 5 minutes walking far from the metro stop Liceu, on the green metro line - which permits you reaching all the most famous places in town as Vallcarca for the Parc Guell, Passeig de Gracia and Diagonal for the best shops and restaurants, Parallel to reach fast the Montjuic.
I really reccomend this place 'cause - even if it is in the Raval, which is not one of the best area in town - in clean, cheap and sorrounded by bars, restaurants and even a pharmacy.

The location is quite good, just off Las Ramblas. Rooms are quite small, adequate and come with a private bath. Rooms on street can be quite noisey, even on a Sunday night. The hotel is located up one level from the street and you must drag your suitcases up the stairway before reaching the desk and a lift. Not a bad place and inexpensive by comparison.

It's my 4th time in Barca, and have to say that Hostal La Terrassa is well located, just a few minutes from La Rambla and Liceu metro station, so you are close to it all, yet not in the center of all the noise from La Rambla. The price was good, and considering what we paid for, not much to complain about. We had room 201, which had a double and a single bed, and a balcony, and private bath room. Simple, yet all we needed, as we only slept and showered in the room. Some may complain about the lack of television, but we didn't care much, as we had brough along our own laptop with movies.
The room was clean, bathroom was fine with good towels, and good water pressure in the shower.
We are heavy sleepers, so the thin walls didn't disturb us, but may be a disturbance to others. We could sometime hear our neighbours (such as their phone ringing when they got their wake up call). One thing that was lacking was a bedside lamp. There is only one lamp in the room, and it's the main one, so not practical when reading in the evening, while the other half is trying to sleep.
We didn't interact much with reception, but they seemed nice, and kept our luggage when we arrived too early in the morning, and kept it after we checked out, so we could wander around town.
We didn't check out what the hotel had, but for breakfast we went to the cafe on the corner of the street which was used by many of the tourists in the area, but also had locals coming for their breakfast churros and coffee.

Room Tip: Room 201 was fine, as you only have 1 neighbour. Facing the street, so possible street noise, but nic...

Overall this is a good place to stay. The location is excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean but basic. The bathroom was small, but clean and had a great shower with fresh towel every day - but you'll need to get your own shower gel as none provided.
