“Loved it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2011

Stayed 10 nights at Hotel Cram and loved every minute of it. Been coming regularly to Barcelona for 15 years now and this is by far the best place we´ve stayed at. The rooms are modern, well kept, very clean, beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are quite spacious. The staff in the reception is probably the best we´ve ever met, professional and friendly. Never been to a hotel where the staff says hi to everyone who enters the hotel or passes the desk. But at Cram, they always says "hola" ! But the hotel could do a better job with the pool area and the rooftop bar. The inside of the bar was too hot (how about a/c?) to stay in and the pool was out of order for all 10 days. But we did not care that much as we always went to the beaches...
Hope Cram keeps up the good work and give the rooms the update that will probably be necessary in a couple of years or so...

Cram hotel is well located at the intersection of Aribau and Aragon streets in the Eixample area of Barcelona. Though the majority of taxi drivers didn’t know the name of the hotel, once I mentioned the 2 cross streets, it was no problem for them to know where to go.

The location is also great for the sights and shopping on Paseo de Gracia or Placa Catalunya, both which are about 10 minutes away by foot. Our favorite chocolate store, Cacao Sampaka is also just 10 minutes away. We were right in the middle of the nightlife, with several great bars and restaurants only minutes away from the front door.

Our room was a Privilege room, number 605, on the top floor facing Aragon street. We had a nice terrace with plants, 2 chairs, a table and 2 chaise lounge. The decoration was creams, browns and red-orange. The room was a nice size with curved walls and lots of mirrors that bouced the light around and made the room seem more spacious. The bathroom had a frosted glass door and was done in white tiles. There was a tub with the typical European «telephone» style shower.

The room had lots of storage as well as a safe and flat screen tv. On each side of the King size bed were lighting controls for the entire room.

The room could have used a little freshing up. The bathroom had chipped tiles, the furniture had several knicks and stains and one side of the blackout curtains had a huge rip.

The reception area of the Cram hotel was a sophisticated black and red. The staff was very friendly and helpful and many of them spoke French as well as English.

We stayed at The Cram for two night and three days in June. The hotel was very modern and dark inside to contrast with the historic building exterior. The room was small but, well appointed and had a fun flair with the light settings and modern decorating. The hotel is small and in a very safe neighborhood. This is about a 15 minute walk from Las Ramblas, where the main tourist info is located. The main drawback we found to this hotel was the staff. The help in the hotel lounge was very uninspired to serve. They had to be found to order a drink and were unhelpful. I ordered a round of drinks with the intention of going to the small rooftop. The waitress disappeared and after waiting about 5 minutes started to take the drinks with me to the roof. I had given her my room number but, she did not return for me to sign the receipt. I was planning on signing when I brought the glasses back and she was quite upset that I was going to leave before she got around to printing the receipt. We had drinks in the bar several times and found the same lack of service each occasion.
The front desk staff was very friendly but, not functioning as a concierge desk. They were not great at advising on eating or tourist destinations but, were nice and friendly.
An absolute must is eating at LaFlauta. It is only about 2 blocks away, has amazing service and the best meal we ate in our 10 days in Spain. The bill for 3 adults with wine was only 60 Euros. We were highly impressed.
I would not stay here again but, was satisfied with the stay.

Stayed here for four days in July with my partner for a mix of business and pleasure. We found it perfect. A nice room, compact but well designed and a really comfortable bed. The top floor terrace had a small plunge pool and great views. The staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. The location was excellent away from tourist trappings and central so we could walk everywhere. A great deal for a reasonable price. We'll definitely go back.

Beautifully designed room, with curved walls and smart use of mirrors to expand the space. Modern design with warmth and sense of fun. Nice wall textures. You feel you're in a place where modern hip hotel design is important to the operator. Pre-set room lighting scenes that are fun and useful. When you open the room door, the room lights come on, immediately setting the mood.

Very comfortable bed with quality linens.  Lots of storage so you can get the suitcase and stuff put away, which is important in a high-design minimalist interior. Be careful: the hot water is really hot, and is immediately available, which is not always the case in many hotels!

Continental breakfast buffet is available on the top lounge / pool level:  good selection in open air setting with fun views of the neighborhood.

Free Wifi but didn't  work on our floor and when it did work in the lobby, only allowed email and not Internet browsing. No business center with computer for printing boarding passes, although desk personnel will go online and print for you.

Stayed in the Cram from Sunday to Wednesday. Room was small but clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location good for both shopping and the night life of the Ramblas. A number of good restaurants nearby.

It later reopens from 12.00 Am until 12.00 Pm, serving drinks, appetizers, tapas and 'informal cuisine' uninterruptedly throughout the day.
