“Good Location, modern rooms”
Reviewed 29 August 2013

Boutique style hotel in a good location. The public spaces are dark and feel quite intimate. The atrium with the stark white art deco style balconies are quite stunning. Our room had a large smart tv, good furnishings ( view a bit pants from the back of the hotel!!) The bathroom was large and had a huge walk in shower. Quirky round walls in the bathroom and bedroom definitely added to the intimate feel of the hotel.

The roof top bar was closed when we visited in May 2013 but the terrace was open and staff were happy to bring drinks up from the down stairs bar. The pool is small but at night the ambiance on the terrace is lovely.

We didn't take breakfast in the hotel as it was quite expensive and there are several good cafes serving excellent breakfasts close by. We got a good rate on the room thorugh bookings.com would recommend this for young people and couples.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear have an unispiring view of flats.

We have stayed at Cram three years in a row and always 10-11 nights each stay. I was very critical last year, when the place was going downhill and was beginning to get quite worn. But now they have done a lot of improvements when it comes to the lobby and the interior in the hallways. Much more stylish and modern feeling now. But the rooms are still the same and I think they need to have a look at them soon too and do some sort of improvement. But rooms are comfortable and beds awesome. But furniture is starting to get worn and not always up to standard with a 4-star hotel.
Staff is mostly very good, except for this one guy that really should look for another job.
Come back again? Yes!

I stayed for two nights at Cram and really loved it. The hotel is very well located, right at the center of the gay district. Very close to plaza Universitat and to plaza Catalunya. My room was very clean, with air conditioner. Recommend.

First - our booking with Cram was a result of hotel Axel (just a short block away and where we stayed twice before) not meeting their advertised pricing which lead to us canceling with Axel when we discovered that Hotel Cram could offer us a superior room with a private deck for less than the falsely advertised pricing of Hotel Axel. So - we got a good sized room with private deck for really a very good price compared to other hotels in BCN and the rest of Europe. Large Bed and a great bathroom!! No issues with street noise and contrary to other postings we would daily bring back food and drink to our room without ever being called on it or having it confiscated. Room Service was also good and proactive insofar as the concierge asking about our need for an iron and ironing board because we previously asked for it. Room Service pricing was the same as on the street and not at a premium level as with most hotels - and the food was very good!! All the staff were professional and service oriented (don't expect any effusive friendliness... But you will get smiles). We had a small issue with two erroneous charges on our bill, however the front desk removed this without any argument. As we stayed for a week during the circuit festival, the hotel was full of gay men and couples...which quite frankly should give Axel a run for their money as Hotel Cram should be considered a very gay friendly hotel. Criticisms: we were given toiletries refills only once (and that was on our second day? Could have used another bar of soap). Also, the roof top has a lot of tables to eat at, but only six beds by the pool - perhaps management could review this and add a few more beds in the middle if the day to improve this offering). Overall, this was definitely one of the better hotels we stayed at and will book here again as well as actively promote a hotel pick up the pieces of an almost disappointing trip created by Hotel Axel. You have our loyalty now Cram - well done and thank you for making our stay so comfortable.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Cram in July for 5 nights.

The hotel is modern and stylish but the rooms are small.

The price was really good. The location isn't great- its about 15/20 mins to the metro. It is about 30 mins walk to the Ramblas. We were there in July and it was way too hot to walk in the middle of the day! Taxi's were about 10/ 11 euros each way to the beach where quite a few bars and restaurants are.

The roof top pool is quite small and there is no shade up there. The hotel staff told us off for bringing our own water bottle which was annoying as we purchased beers from their bar anyway.

We didn't see anyone having breakfast or dinner at the hotel. We opted for local options.

Overall average hotel and we got it for a good price

I stayed two nigths at the Cram and I really loved it. The locaation is perfect: in my opinion, the best neighborhood in Barcelona: central, chic, full of shops, restaurants,bars....
The hotel is very nice and modern, the rooms are big enough. bathroom with all the necessary amenities. Wonderful shower.
Very fast and reliable free wifi ( for once !), TV with spanish and international channels.
In house parking, although my car, being very big was taken into a public parking one block away ( same price).
Very nice staff.
Very reasonable price, given the quality of the hotel. I recommend this place!

My wife and I stayed at cram for four days july 2013. The weather was hot.. between 33 & 35 every day. First impression was good. Helpful staff good English. The room it's self was nice we'll equipped with every thing you need including a good hair dryer for the wife.. Room (311) but the view was not good. We didn't have the breakfast option as we wanted to try elsewhere. If you want English breakfast you have to look for it. We had breakfast on La Rambla one day and it was 30 euros. As for restaurants we tried two.. The Attic on la Rambla and la gavina to the left of port Olympic.. Both very very nice. Service brilliant in both. La gavina you really pay for due to the location..100 plus euros but worth it. The areobus from the airport was 5.95 euro per person..goes every 10 mins. Taxi cost for same trip will be 35 or more. We love Barcelona and the Spanish way hope you do.. One thing to be aware of.. Don't put your handbag down anywhere.. Keep it across your body.. Wallets keep in your front pocket with your hand on it.
