“Fulfilled by business needs..plus football!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2013

stayed for 10 days over a business trip.
though was not pleased enough with the exterior look of my room, but the service speaks volume.

truly, the staff of this hotel is the real asset..very helpful and professional.

breakfast is average to me, as i used to lavish 5 star breakfast spread in Asian hotels.

location from the main shopping district is a little bit far, but if u r coming to Barcelona for the football experience, this is the best hotel as it is just 5 minutes walk to the stadium.

Room Tip: choose room with Nou Camp view. Bout Barcelona, if you are tourist, please be extra cautious with p...

stayed here before a cruise in june 2013.
arrived at midday lovely foyer, huge queue.unable to pay for an upgrade as the hotel was full.
our room on the 7 floor was old fashioned and dark.it was however very clean.
the concierge left our cases in the wrong room,it took an hour to establish this.
the mini bar was empty bar some chocolate.
when we left to find Las Ramblas to eat,it was 15/20 mins away in a taxi.
the restaurant breakfast was held in an annexe.
to summarise,it was adequate, not memorable and certainly not 5 star,3 at the most.
would i return,no.

The nicest hotel I have ever stayed in with the nicest pool and the very best breakfast ever! Having a authentic German beer restaurant was an added plus. Costly, but worth it. Very convenient to metro.

Stayed for three nights on business. Large hotel, standard business class. Good sized rooms and bathrooms, plenty of storage, very clean. Decor a bit tired. Good, free wifi, could connect multiple items. Breakfast ok, service a bit patchy.
A good location for some of the business areas but I would not choose this hotel for a holiday as it is too far away from the centre, not walking distance although good access to trams.

For a 5 star hotel this is very ordinary and average.

Stayed here for 3 nights during a seminar.

The hotel needs a renovation soon and carpets, rooms etc. seems to be a but outdated.

I guees it is good if you want to see football.

Easy to get into city centre with metro.

The location of the hotel is great, especially if you are a football fan. Both stadiums are quite close, depending on your room location you could see at least one of them. During a game the sound is amazing. Before and after the game not so much, regardless of the result :-)
The city can get very crowded when such events take place, I have spent a weekend with both days having an important sports event.
At least, by this way the city is quite alive. You can tell immediately that tourism is a major thing around. There are buses making different types of city tours all day, some of them popping up each 10 minutes. The public transportation is also very evolved, besides the tram and bus lines there is a huge metro network taking you almost everywhere. I have used that in combination with 10 trip tickets to visit the most important things. The metro station is 200 m walk from the hotel.
But back to the hotel: the room is average considering furnishing, internet is good, tv channels more or less ok. You have a minibar but no iron, which, in certain cases might be very expensive (1 shirt ~ 10 eur). The facilities in the hotel are great, you can make some indoor sports or just sunbath in the garden behind the hotel.
Breakfast is great! There are so many things to choose from, that I couldn't try everything in one week's stay.
And for the people not willing to taste the local coffee, there is a Starbucks shop round the corner ;-)

Room Tip: If you want to enjoy the nightlife like you would watching a documentary, take yourself a room on th...

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel for six nights during a conference that was held in the hotel. Although described by many as a five-star hotel, I think it's really a very good 4-star hotel. However, with a favourable exchange rate for the NZ dollar vs the euro, I found myself paying less per night this time for room and buffet breakfast compared to room only three years prior! The buffet breakfast was excellent and set one up well for the rest of the day. Drinks in the bar and in one's minibar, however, were a bit on the expensive side - it's much cheaper to get out and about and enjoy drinks at the many tapas bars in the city. There are also a few bars/restaurants about 100m from the hotel entrance as well as a supermarket section in the nearby Il Corte Ingles department store, where you can buy the same beer as that stocked in the mini-bar for less than a sixth of the price charged by the hotel.

The hotel is situated on Placa Pius XII, just off Avenida Diagonal, a wide main road near flash-looking corporate buildings, local university and the Camp Nou Football Cathedral. The city centre is about 10 minutes by underground train, so not too far to travel. Just be careful on the trains - several of the conference delegates were robbed on the trains or in the train stations - as youth crime is very bad as a result of ridiculously high unemployment (26% of the workforce and 52% of youth were unemployed when I visited).

The hotel was really like an oasis in the desert, especially when you arrived back after a night out and sweating in the 25-26 degree night-time heat.

I've grown attached to this hotel after several stays, and will definitely stay there again. The bald-headed concierge was very helpful when I pestered him every day about lost luggage! He could also direct me to shops and other services when I desperately needed to replace clothing and other items that Air France had lost.
