“Lovely stay :)”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

My partner and I came here between 12th-16th July 2014 and had a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived the staff were polite and very willing to help. Due to our flight being early, we arrived at the hotel at around 11:00 with the intention of leaving our bags and returning to check in later that day, but the staff were more than happy for us to check in early - which was lovely as we had time to have a quick nap before exploring!

The hotel was very clean throughout; our room was spotless as was the bathroom and the dining area. The only comment or criticism I would have regarding the hotel is that the bedroom decor (in our room, not all of them) was a little outdated; bold blue carpets throughout etc. However, having seen photos of other rooms, I know this isn't the case for all of them.

Location wise the hotel is brilliant if you are visiting the university, as you are right on its doorstep. Similarly, it's fairly close to the airport so does not cost much in taxi fares. My only tiny gripe with the location was that if you are there to visit the city itself as opposed to the university, it is a tiny bit further out from where all the bars and excitement are. (Though there are local metro stations, bus stations and a tram station and the hop on hop off tour bus is very close by! So the public transport is very easy to access).

On one evening of our stay we decided to eat at the hotel restaurant, which though expensive, is beautiful. The food served was beautiful, the waiter was very helpful and although he was very skilled in English he had the patience to listen to my partners attempts to remember his GCSE Spanish. The food was beautiful and as a tip, if you do eat here and you have a sweet tooth; definitely go for the desert buffet - it's really varied and very tasty.

I stayed at Princessa Sofia for three nights due to the EDULEARN conference held over there. My mother accompanied me and we both had a great stay. Hotel facilities are great, it is spacious, but at the same time intimate. Delicious food, spa, conference center - all in one place. Location - very good. Metro and tram-way 200-300 meters away. I truly recommend!

Hotel is a 5 star in public areas, especially lobby, pool and dining. Rooms are probably a 3 star, but are large and have updated bathrooms. Traveling with my young daughter, we felt safe and quite accommodated by all the hotel staff. The reasonable rate included the fantastic pool, spa, workout room and a full breakfast that was more of a buffet brunch (included all drinks, coffee and champagne) and served until 11. Great value for. Barcelona!

The hotel is Very near at Stadio Camp Nou.. This is a best place to stay when you want to go watch a soccer game... The metro is about 200 to 300 meters away from the hotel.. There's also a lot of restaurant near it.. If they offer you to upgrade to VIP lounge Take it bec it is the best way to enjoy your stay at the hotel.. Besides you will have their best service.. they will really make you feel at home..

My wife and I just stayed at the Princesa Sofia for two nights after staying at another hotel in the more crowded area of Barcelona for three nights. We had a terrific experience in every respect - the service was exceptional, the room was lovely and the amenities were quite nice. We stayed on one of the Club floors and the club itself was comfortable and worthwhile.

The hotel is located in a less dense area of Barcelona along a particuarly beautiful stretch of the Avenida Diagonal. Transportation was easily available to all of the common tourist sites, but you had an actual sense of the city of Barcelona (not crowded with tourists from all over the world just outside your hotel). It seemed that the neighborhood was full of local Barcelona residents, which gave us a very nice sense of the city and its people.

We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We spend almost a week in this hotel without regretting one single second. They staff was very friendly. They even got me a little cake on the day of my birthday to the room! Much appreciated especially when the hotel is so big as this one. Breakfast was good and a lot of choice though no changes or new items during our week..
I'd recommend thid hotel as its situated not far from a metro station so downtown is easily accessible.

Located in the Camp Nou area of Barca. Well appointed lobby. The rooms and corridors were a bit dated but overall good.

Check in and check out was swift. Free in room wifi was very handy. The hotel has a nice bar with a outside veranda thing looking over the hotel porch. We used the pool and jacuzzi which was good.

Breakfast was very good. A selection of hot and cold dishes in the b/f buffet.

Located near a metro station and 5 min walk from a large shopping centre the hotel is conveniently placed. Also a 2 min drive from the Congress centre.
