Owner description: Casa Lleo i Morera is one of the most spectacular modernist buildings in Barcelona. Built between 1902 and 1906, is a masterpiece by the great modernist architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner, author of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Barcelona such as Hospital de Sant Pau and Palau de la Musica Catalana.

Well, it is not hidden, actually, as Casa Lleo i Morera is located on a busy corner of Passeig de Gràcia and Carrer del Consell de Cent, in the heart of Eixample neighborhood. They have opened the doors just recently, so the site has not made it into the tour guide books yet. This gives a lucky visitor the chance to enjoy the modernista beauty on a semi-private tour (there were only 5 people on the tour). The experience is very different from the crowded Casa Batlló and other Barcelona attractions. The express tour covers only a portion of the main floor, while the guided tour includes more rooms. We took the express tour, due to the busy schedule. It was very enjoyable and educational. The guide was very knowledgeable; and very nice too. (I forgot the name, sorry). His English was flawless. The tour included the receptions’ area (living/ball/guest room), the dining room, master bedrooms, the corridor, and the backyard. All rooms are amazingly decorated - Doménec i Montaner at his best. As other reviewers has pointed out, the exposition is indeed incomplete without furniture. So, use your imagination!

Next door to the Casa Battló, Casa Lleo is on a par with it as far as the richness of the interior decoration goes. Unfortunately, the furniture was taken away and is now in the storage of the MNAC (the Catalan Art Museum). The guide said they are negotiating its return or a loan but they had been little progress so far. This is a real pity because no home is complete until properly furnished. This being said, the Casa Lleo is definitely worth a visit in its present state because of its precious stained-glass smoking room, its intricate wood panelling and ceramic figurines in the dining room and its amazing, light-filled front living rooms.

Tickets are only sold online. The house has recently opened, few people know about it, and we had the 11.30 English tour just for three of us. Mireia was an excellent guide.

Beautiful and warm with such variety of intricate detail and gorgeous wood. So much that demands long close looks and wonderful glasswork that makes the whole house glow. The tour guides were very friendly and knowledgeable.

If you are interested in "catalan modernism" you should definitely visit this house!! You are getting a very good explanation about the history and the main hall is amazing.
They just opened the house for visitors shortly which means that all decorations are newly restored.
I would warmly recommend you to visit the house asap: It is not that famous as Casa Battló yet - therefore you have much more space for enjoying the building!

When I went to there(on 2nd of August),it was pavement of outside,so I couldn't see it from outside. Also when I arrived there,I couldn't enter because of time...so I'd really like to visit there next time!
