“My favorite museum in Spain”

The ruins are amazing and very informative. I couldn't believe how extensive the ruins were. It was very interesting and gave me a better perspective on the history of the area. Admission was included with the Barcelona Card so that was a plus.

“Most extensive Roman ruins I've seen...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2014

...that aren't in Rome.

For the entry price this place is an absolute bargain. We went in expecting the ruins to consist of some rubble, a few columns and probably a mosaic or two. Instead, we were down among the ruins for hours. I think half of ancient Barcelona has been excavated down there (the rest is at El Born CC). One bonus is that the audioguide doesn't cost extra, which is a rarity in museums, but most of the written information is in Spanish & Catalan only so if you don't speak either, you really do need to get the audioguide.

If you are at all interested in history this is a definite must see in Barcelona, it gives a good grounding of the history of the area for a more than reasonable entry fee and I should imagine is lovely respite in hot weather!

“Better than I expected”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

Beautiful building that houses a fascinating museum. The old Roman remains are brought to life with the audio tour and the rest of the museum is almost as good too. Reasonable entry fee and the audio guide is free. Very informative and well laid out. My only criticism is that a guide book or souvenir guide would have been nice. A brief plan for one Euro or a book for 20+ Euro didn't do it for me. Something in between is needed. Definitely worth an hour or two of your time in Barcelona.

“Must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014

This is a must see in Barcelona! The Roman Ruins are incredible and I couldn't believe you were allowed to be so close to them and experience them. The audio guide was really great and free. It was a very reasonable price to get in and I'm soo happy I decided to do it. I spent about 2 hours in the Roman Ruins alone. Amazing time!

“Barcelona History Museum”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2014

For those who love the old Europe to visit this museum it is a must. It is like going back to the roman days and when you access the museum it is just great with the visit of the roman walls, the roman baths, the laundry and many others.
