“Fantastic place but keep your wits about you - Romanians there are parasitic bandits.”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

I have been several times now and can say that the atmosphere brings out the best in people. The rowdiness of large groups could be intimidating to some but it's all in good spirits. The Romanians loitering in the streets are constantly preying on those who drop their guard so beware of street entertainers of any kind including beggars as they are the distraction for professional pickpockets, and on the outskirts of the strip muggers operate and will target the vulnerable. Get a taxi to the door, they are good value and will wait until you are safely behind doors. Love it there though.

“Huge resort, very busy, it's blackpool with sunshine”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

We decided on a long weekend in the sun and Benidorm fitted the bill. My first visit there was back in 1967 (yes, I am that old!) and it consisted of 3 hotels, some town bars on the headland and 2 large beaches backed by olive groves. Fishing boats and donkeys were everywhere all policed by the Guardia Seville (Francos police)
The difference now is phenomenal. There must be thousands of hotels, bars, restaurants. The olive groves are gone! The resort extends beyond the 2 beaches to the hills in the distance. It could well be classed as a city!
We enjoyed our stay, but a long weekend was enough for us. There were a few places where we could hide from the hurley-burley late night activities of the younger folk.
If you want a quiet relaxing time be very, very sure of your hotels location, check for the vicinity of night clubs and late bars. We met one couple who were forced to sleep with doors and windows shuttered all night to avoid the noise in the wee hours.
Use the hotel safe for your valuables. Only take out enough money for the day. Keep your phone out of sight. The beggars, pickpockets and ne'er do wells are present in popular areas

“Gupapest Valley”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

Well after a big night in Alicante for new years we decided to take a drive to this beautiful valley just outside Benidorm. This is a very very pretty place to go for a day visit an if you are feeling abit hungry stop on the way down at the Xtora Restaurant an have the Lamb it was awesome. The views from atop the valley are great.
