We spent the day with Jose in August 2013 and can say it was the highlight of our stay in Barcelona. We have a 13 year old and a 9 year old so I was worried they might get bored after a few hours. I was very wrong about that. Jose kept the day moving along and interesting for the kids. We saw so many things that we wouldn't have been able to see if we tried to navigate around town with a book. When you walk around town with Jose you can be a tourist without feeling like a tourist if that makes sense.

Overall I wish we had another day with Jose in Barcelona. Amazing place, friendly people, great food. This tour is money well spent.

Thank Frank H

We usually navigate cities on our own, but decided to go with a guide in Barcelona, to be sure that our language barrier wouldn't get in the way of experiencing the best of this incredible city.

After extensive research, we chose Nancy Daum Dailey of Enchanting Barcelona Tours. Her advance communication was quick, timely and thorough. We've just spent an amazing two full days with her, exploring the city on foot and bike. She is AWESOME!

Nancy is very engaging, a delight to spend time with and personalized the tours to match exactly what we wanted to see - even adjusting on the fly. Her deep understanding of Barcelona and its history made for a fantastic experience. Highly recommend Enchanting Barcelona Tours for anyone wanting to truly experience the real Barcelona.

Enchanting Barcelona Day Tours was the underpinning for our ten-day stay in Barcelona. Our four tours included relevant historical and political events of Catalunya with a focus on Barcelona, cathedrals, the medieval synagogue of Barcelona (interior), art and artists, Modernista architects and architecture, tapas, and unforgettable nature treks. The guides, Nancy and Teresa, were very knowledgeable, flexible about requests for changes in itineraries, efficient, humorous, considerate, and kind.

Nancy led the “Old Town Walking Tour.” It set the foundation for understanding the Roman history and middle ages in Barcelona. Nancy also brought us to Hotel Espana's Modernista public rooms. We had time to do some shopping as well. A highlight was a stop at a charming café serving crispy, flavorful churros with dark chocolate sauce. Lunch was included with some of the best tapas we had in Barcelona along with our choice of any beverage.

Next Teresa led “The Marvelous Modernistas.” She provided the meaning of the symbolism and the history of the many buildings we viewed. It included the exterior of Gaudi's La Pedrera and Casa Batllo along with other Modernista mansions. We finished with a tour of La Sagrada Familia's exterior and tickets for the interior. The tour included the Parc Guell but we opted out to spend more time in the temple.

Our next tour was “Hiking Majestic Monserrat” with Teresa. We requested to see the Museum of Montserrat (tickets not included). Its extraordinary collection was one of the highlights of our trip. We had time to visit the Virgin of Montserrat and heard vespers. The trek above the cathedral provided awe-inspiring, spectacular vistas.

Our last wondrous tour was “Cadaques, Cap de Creus and Costa Brava” with Nancy. We ambled around the white washed, hilly, fishing village of Cadaques, saw the exterior and interior of the exquiste and surprise-a-minute home of Dali and Gala. We finished with a delicious lunch on the terrace of a secluded restaurant on top of a mountain overlooking the Costa Brava coastline.

In conclusion AHHHHHH is all I can say about each tour. May every traveler enjoy these experiences with Enchanting Barcelona Day Tours.

My family and I were lucky enough to spend a total of 3 half days days touring with Nancy and her team. When I first wrote to Enchanting Barcelona, nearly 6 months ago, Nancy was among the first to write back. At that time I hadn't a clue as to how to organize an 11 day tour to Spain for my husband and I.

I first used Enchanting Barcelona to prepare our entire itinerary. I'm not sure if Nancy offers this service any more but she put together an itinerary for us that included a 2 day driving adventure into the Pueblos Blancos including stops to Ronda, Grazalema, and Zahara de la Sierra, and a day trip to Cordoba from Seville. Without this guidance we would have never veered from the usual planned "packaged" trip to Spain. We also enjoyed Nancy's great hotel and restaurant recommendations throughout our entire trip for Granada, Seville, Madrid and beyond.

The day that we landed we immediately spent a good 1/2 day with Nancy touring the Old Town and the area around our hotel. Touring with Nancy is like touring with someone that you have known for years. As others have said, Nancy is a wealth of information with regard to the history, economics and the people of Barcelona. Her recommendations for the best restaurants and cultural activities helped to make our trip what it was, Nancy made sure that we stopped off at off the beaten path places of interest, that one would never find in a tour book, as well as her favorite churro bakery. We stopped for lunch at a wonderful venue for tapas. These were truly the best tapas that we had during our entire trip to Spain. This walking tour helped us to set the stage for our visit to Barcelona and beyond.

Nancy also provided 2 days of touring to my sister in law and her husband who coincidentally only overlapped with us only one day. Besides touring the Old Town as well, they also took the Modernist tour with Teresa. They had nothing but amazing things to say about Teresa in terms of her knowledge of Barcelona as they too felt that they were touring with an old friend Those 2 days of touring were the best days of their 6 days spent in Barcelona.

In summary, spending the day with Nancy and her team is like spending the day with old friends. Both guides are warm, engaging, worldly, flexible, and filled with great recommendations. Please message me if you have any questions.
