Owner description: Off-beat and fashionable neighborhood that features historic attractions, art galleries, funky shops, bars and tapas.

You can cover it in 1,5 hours: quirky shops, little gelaterias, exhibitions and the market, of course. Don't miss 300 Del Born for quality food. Equally good for breakfast, lunch or boozy dinner.

An eclectic neighborhood with nice shops and cafes'. I wish I had known that the Picasso Musuem was there, as I would have bought a ticket the day before. The line was very long to purchase tickets.

On my way to visit the Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, I wandered through this neighborhood. To get out of the chilly drizzle I unknowingly found El Born. Referring both to the neighborhood and to the restored/renovated/discovered archaeological and cultural center that used to be a central market. A very pleasant and interesting way to learn about Catalonia's history. A gift shop and a restaurant are located within the building. To warm up I had a delicious bowl of vegetarian soup named 'Everyman for Himself.' For a vegetable soup it was a little pricey but given the location, quite appropriate. A great way to spend a couple hours, both in the building and exploring the artsy neighborhood.

with a lot of references to the 300 year anniversary of the siege conquest of Barcelona around the city, this was fascinating to visit and see the archaeological remains and historical context of both the city the political background of the succession wars
