It's where the Hotel Casa Fuster (where we stayed) is. High end shopping in one direction, Syrian neighborhood in another. Within walking distance of Sagra Sophia and other Gaudi sites.

Passeig de Gracia reminds me a little of the Champs-Elysees, a long avenue with high-end shops, cafes and tourists. Having said that...the architecture, oh the architecture...Paris is good, but Barcelona is stunning. Casa Batllo, Casa Amatller, Casa Mila and any number of other Art Nouveau/Modernist buildings. I just found myself walking along looking up!!! Yes, it's touristy, yes, you will stop for coffee and people watch and your flexible friend will also make an appearance. My recommendation...take a stroll along in the evening when the fountain is lit, it's beautiful.

From the shopping to the cafes! Grab a pitcher of sangria and enjoy an afternoon on the Passeig de Gracia. Watch for my photos and reviews.

We walked to Passeig de Gracia to visit both Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, also has the main stops for Barcelona Bus Turistic (blue and red) - but if you like high end shops and have lots of cash this is also the place for you.

All of the name brand stores. Comparable to every major shopping avenue in every world class city. You want it? It's there.
