Hotel Montblanc is located in central Barcelona, just a 10 minute walk to Placa Catalunya. A modern place that provides comfort to tourist and business travelers. The Raco Gaudi restaurant serves all three meals to accommodate those not use to Spanish customs of eating at late times. It has a small outdoor pool on the terrace away from crowds to relax and the rooms had TV and Wi-Fi service. The staff spoke little English, but were still very helpful if needed. I was able to walk to many places of interest that were close by. I spent three nights here while seeing Barcelona.

Room Tip: Rooms facing toward the pool terrace were quieter.

Pros:
The location of this hotel ensures you can be at Barcelona's trendiest places within minutes using the local metro or by walking.
The hotel is clean and comfortable with good sized rooms.
The breakfast spread, from 7 am to 10 am, includes cereals, fruits, cold meat with a wide selection of breads and pastry. Juice, Milk and Coffee is also available.
Hotel staff is helpful and friendly.

Cons:
You will have to pay extra (6 euros/day) for the room safe! Most other hotels charging a similar room rate offer the safe for free.
2 single beds are stuck together to make a 'king size' bed. There was nothing to hold them together so the beds split if you were lying in the middle.
The pool is the size of a large bathtub and is available for use between 10 am and 7 pm only. Also tends to get crowded in the afternoons.

My granddaughter and I spent 4 nights at the hotel, the impressive foyer and friendliness of the staff made a great start to our break. The hotel facilities top class and the piano bar and pianist a real bonus. Breakfast offered lots of choice and superbly presented.
We enjoyed the pool area and the friendliness of the bar staff the whole are spotless.
The hotel's central location made browsing the shops in the gothic quarter and la ramblas within easy reach. The bedroom spacious with comfortable beds. This was an 18th birthday trip for my granddaughter, we both would love to return to the hotel

The hotel is clean and comfortable with nice sized rooms And a great location!
Breakfast is not included and is very expensive. You would do better to eat elsewhere.
I had to pay extra to get a key for the safe.
Don't be fooled by the fact that there is a pool. It is about the size of a bathtub, and not open in the evenings, when you are most likely to use it.
The bar is not very well staffed, but you can locate somebody if you really want to drink.

We spent two nights in the Montblanc before and after our cruise. The location of the hotel was very good, only a few minutes walk from Plz. Catalunya. The rooms were almost too spacious according to the furniture. However, the service and breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed for three nights prior to our cruise. Nice hotel with spacious, clean rooms. Loved the location. Only a few blocks from the Placa Catalunya where the bus from the airport dropped us off.

Cons: the pool closes at 7p.m.which was disappointing. Ice was hard to great. You could only get it from the bar and they were not pleasant about it. They acted as through we were putting them out.

Room Tip: We enjoyed staying on the first floor near the pool and terrace.

We spent two nights here at the end of June 2014, prior to boarding a cruise ship, and were pleased by the hotel, its staff and its great location. We took the bus from the airport to Placa de Catalunya and had only a 5-min. walk to the hotel, a blessing with all our cruise luggage. We checked in early morning and our room was ready (!), and the room was spacious and comfortable, overlooking the hotel's outdoor pool. The hotel is in walking distance of the Palau de la Musica Catalana, the Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, and Sagrada Familia is a short Metro ride away. The hotel's location paid off, too, during a taxi strike on July 1, the day we had to get to our ship: We were able to get to the port terminal, again with all our luggage in tow, by taking a city bus, from close by the hotel, down to the port area and then getting the city's port bus to the pier. It was a short, inexpensive trip (2 euros apiece on each bus), a lot less painful and much less expensive than the getting-to-the-ship experiences we heard about from other cruisers.
