We have spent 3 nights at this hotel and its a really good place to stay in. Room was spacious and cleaned every day. Only problem were thin walls. You could hear people taking a shower in other room, but it should not make a difference if you spent most of the day in the town. Sagrada Familia is only 10 minutes away and shops are just across the street AND A GREAT BAKERY with fresh treats. Tetuan metro station was only 7 minutes walk from hotel. Staff was really helpful and they tried their best to help us.

Stayed here with friends back in October when the hotel was called Hesperia. Check in was painless and the staff were courteous and efficient.
My partner and I were allocated a room on the 4th floor which overlooked the mini quadrangle and although we had no concept of weather the room was clean, very comfortable and large and it was no trouble to nip downstairs in the morning to see whether you needed a coat or not.
The hotel is ideally situated for Sagrada and walking down the Arc deTriomf area and is probably maybe 15 minutes away from the main La Rambla area. We also walked down to the harbour but the underground system is easy to use and I have travelled alone before to Barcelona many times and have always felt safe.
So all in all a really lovely hotel that I have recommended to friends and family. I will stay here on my return to Barcelona which hopefully won't be long away.
There is a lovely little local cafe where we had breakfast - just come out of the hotel and turn left, cross the road and it is there - you might get some strange looks on the first day but the pastries and coffee are amazing and will set you up for the day.

Room Tip: No tips about the room but if you are travelling from El Prat into the city then instead of getting...

The hotel was very comfortable and in a great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, suggesting restaurants and advising us on journeys. Unfortunately the sound proofing in the hotel is non existent and we became well acquainted with the bathroom habits of all the guests around us. Not ideal at 6am!

We were planning to visit the Sagrada Familia and we found that the Carlit's location was just fine for the purpose. If the local subway was not being upgraded (April 2013) travelling to the historical center would have also been easy.
I share the comment in the review that the staff was very helpful: they allowed me to use their PC to purchase and print an online ticket for the Sagrada Familia visit. Note WiFi is only available in the lobby.
The rooms are adequate for the price but A/C was noisy and despite our 5th floor room having a window giving on a small courtyard (I had asked for a quiet room away from the traffic), we felt we were lacking fresh air. The elevator/lift motor was also noisy at this level.
Local parking for the car was easy and free during Easter weekend, but expect to look for a garage during normal time. You cannot park in front of the hotel entrance to load or unload due to a bicycle track parallel to the sidewalk.
I also found the breakfast expensive at 12 eur ; it cost 8 eur at other hotels in Spain and there was nothing special with this one.

Very good experience. The room was clean and spacious. I would say the best part about the hotel is the staff. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. After check in, the receptionist provided us with a map and advised us on where to visit and were happy to give directions. The receptionist spoke very good English which is rare in Spain. The hotel is about a 20 minute walk from Placa de Catalunya and is close to many small shops and eateries.

The staff were absolutely excellent, all of them. It's only a small hotel but whoever was on reception always appeared happy & friendly & was extremely helpful.
The reception area is quite cool & trendy & has obviously been refurbished recently. Sadly the rooms haven't, at least not those on the 4th floor. The room was dilapidated & old & desperately in need of refurbishment. The also only have wired Internet access in the room & that runs at a snails pace. They do have WiFi in reception but that's also very slow.
The location of the hotel is very convenient to the metro & to the city centre.
Overall I would stay here again based on the location & service but pray that they've refurbished the rooms before I next have to visit Barcelona!

Room Tip: Ask if they've recently refurbished any & go for them? Also go for higher floors to avoid s...

Only stayed for couple of nights, but really enjoyed it.
A great choice to visit Barcelona, few minutes to Sagrada Familia, Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia. Staff was very friendly and helpful, I had a problem with the luggage and they solved it promtly. The reception and brekfast areas are cozy and nicely decorated, with lots of books and useful info about the city. The room was very quite but needed some paint. The Director told us they are refurbishing all rooms, one at the time.... Brekfast was also great. Overall I had a lovely stay at Carlit Hotel and will repeat for sure. I recommend it !

Room Tip: Ask for the refurbished rooms when making the reservation
