The best thing about this hotel was the location, just a few blocks from La Sagrada Familia and one block from Saint Pau hospital. A lot of cafes, bakeries, restaurants and mini markets around. The hotel itself is just ok but not very comfortable and extremely noisy (possible to hear people talking, flushing toilets and having a shower in the other rooms at all hours). Beds and pillows could be better too. No places to put the suitcases at all. Lights are really weak in the room. Shower has good pressure but it's not well built, the bathroom completely floods after a shower, as there's no door. Also the bathroom ceiling was moldy and the exhaust fan had a lot of lint and dust which flew around while it was on. The staff at the reception was polite (not very friendly) but one of the ladies was very helpful.

The hotel's place is a good point and you can go to anywere by bus or metro. You can walk in about one hour to reach gothic area of the city or beach. But our rooms wasn't good enogh and the service was below average. Our room was in first floor with a small window. If you opened it you could just see emergency exit with ugly view. There wasn't any blanket in the room and when we asked for that we recieved a dirty one without cover. We had some problem with the safe box too and waited two days until someone came up and fixed it.
If you want a cheep hotel near bus or metro its a good choice. But next time I choose a different hotel for sure.

We stayed for 6 days in May/June. We were on the 5th floor with a corner room. Although the room was on the small side it was very clean and functional. The shower was very good with toiletries and a hairdryer provided. Tea and coffee with an electric kettle is supplied but it is paper cups and no milk provided, but that is no problem as there is a fridge and several supermarkets close by. The wifi in the room was good and a small furnished balcony overlooking the junction. The breakfast was very good with a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt, rolls, cake, ham, cheese etc. every day. The coffee was unusually good to say it was from a machine.
The reception staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and there is a computor on the first floor that has a printer which anyone can use free of charge. On the 6th floor there is a solarium with sunbeds and table and chairs, but the lift only goes to the 5th floor, so the stairs then have to be used.
The hotel is a wedge shape on a corner of a fairly busy junction, but we did not find it a problem. Transport is very close by, either bus or metro to take you anywhere. You can walk to Sagrada Familia and also to the San Pau hospital which is a beautiful building, now a museum. Many good bars and restaurants all close by without having to go too far.
Taxi from the airport is the quickest and most direct way to get to the hotel but it does cost about 35 euro.

Room Tip: Rooms higher up are less noisy from the road traffic

The room as very clean but extremely small, balcony overlooked the busy main road so it was quite noisy. But the excellent location to the Sagrada Familia was fantastic, it is a good place to stay for a few days.

Front desk staff are very, friendly, lovely and welcoming
Always greeting you with a smile
We had a corner room (401), which was I think more spacious than the ones that has balcony! It's quiet too! Away from the vehicle noises! But doesn't give you a good view, but not bothered about that
The room was very clean, and so's the toilet/bathroom. Good housekeeping team, I would say.
As we were on the 4th floor - WiFi was quite slow though, but good enough to use social media's.
The location itself, amazing as we were near every attractions - and was only 5-10 mins walk to Sagrada and the bus stop is just beside it - Av Gaudi.
Many restaurants and cafe's around, and supermarkets/kiosk that closes late - which was v useful

I can't think of any negative things about our stay! Such a great stay! Thank you, Hotel Medicis!
I'll surely recommend and would stay with you again.
