The best part of this hotel was the location --- easy to get everywhere we wanted to go in Barcelona. Rooms were fine - great bathrooms. (We spend little time at the hotel, so location is key for us.) We'd recommend enjoying the breakfast (additional cost) one day then exploring the other small spots in the city....we found fabulous breakfast, coffees, etc., for less cost than the hotel, and a chance to experience more of the city. Located in The Born, it is in the center of some of the historical areas, but easy to either walk or take taxi to major sights, depending on what you like to do.

If you want to stay in a very centrally located hotel and not spend to much money Banys Orientals is the place to be. We stayed in a suite which is located in a building a few minutes away from the hotel. A lot of space and basic but comfortable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the building, less noise

I'm here now in bed in room 403. Second time I've stayed here and it's such good value. Small compact rooms. Budget type but everything you need. Friendly helpful front desk team make my short stay even better. The gothic quarter of the city is where this hotel is situated and it's such a great location for the buzzing atmosphere of the city. Coming to Barcelona? Look no further.

I've stayed at this hotel many times, it has a great location, great restaurant, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the price is ok. It's the service that always makes me decide to go back. This time, our room was close to the elevator and the noise was annoying. Camila, at the front desk changed us to a quieter room on the same floor. She personally brought up the new keys and although we had been in the original room most of the day, she had no hesitation in moving us.
Couple of days later, we needed our boarding passes printed. Calling down to the front desk, they advised us to email them. We did so and a few minutes later when we went down to the reception, Camila had them printed and ready and even offered to send them up to the room for us. Not only Camila, but all the staff we encountered were kind and helpful.

Room Tip: The elevator is noisy so the farther away the better. The Picasso and MEAM museums are a 2 minute wa...

I was visiting Barcelona with a friend March 2015, and we chose to stay at Banys Orientals because of the great location, as we were recommended to stay in The Born area. The price was also very good.
Loved the area, hotel was nice, clean and very friendly staff. They helped us out with dinner reservations, printing boarding passes etc.
At check out I left my mobile charger, and they were so kind and sent it to me by mail. Would definately go back there another time visiting Barcelona.

A pleasant hotel marred by erratic service. On day 2 we returned to our room at 4pm to find all towels had been taken away, used toiletries not replaced. Couldn't reach anyone by phone, so had to go searching for towels. No apology. Second day no towels taken and existing ones left untidy. Restaurant food good but service slow and offhand, although plenty of staff and dining room not full. Probable wouldn't stay here again.

We are a family of 2 adults and 2 kids below 12. We got a one level suite. This suite is not located in the same building as the reception but on a different building not too far from the hotel. It will not have any receptionist and you just enter the building with your key. The room was very spacious and quiet. There is another suite with two levels and is located right next to the hotel with the receptionists, but could get noisy unless you request for a room facing the back side.
We stayed for a total of 9 nights. They provide a good supply of bottled water both still and sparkling. I would stay here again because I think this is the best area to stay in when in Barcelona. Right in the center of everything.
The receptionists were very helpful.
I just have two comments. When housekeeping cleaned the room, they forgot to replenish the toilet paper. So I had to call the reception to send some over. That didn't really leave a very good impression on housekeeping.
Also, the towels are a bit tired and old.

Additionally, I would avoid the store in the corner selling Football shirts on the way to Santa Maria del Mar church. Super hard sell and prices change so you're not sure if they are ripping you off.
