From start to finish this hotel didn't fail to impress. Had an amazing flight - got the train 3 stops from the airport to Sants Estacio and saw our hotel from the exit of the station.
Got to reception and was greeted by Georgina - she was so friendly and polite. We asked if we had a nice view from the room, we booked a junior suite and she upgraded us for free to a family suite. It was on the 20th floor room 2001 and it was AMAZING!! We were shocked at the size. It was massive room with 2 TVs, 3 chairs in living room, 2 mini bars and fridges, 2 toilets, 3 sinks a massive queen size bed and amazing windows around the whole room. Literally has been the best hotel I have stayed in EVER! We were shocked at how much space we had - it was bigger than our London flat. We were given robes and slippers to walk around in and there was enough towels for the two of us 6 times over. Lovely toiletries - shaver, comb, moisturiser! Room came with a hairdryer, iron and coffee maker - we had to ask for a kettle but usually one is provided with the room. Were v impressed.
The reception staff always gave us good advice and good directions - suggestion of where to eat locally and information about getting home (what platform from the station to the airport). Customer service and space is what makes this hotel! If you want to be in the heart of Barcelona near Las Ramblas this hotel is about 20min metro away.... But it is close to Camp Nou and the Montjuic Palace and Magic Fountains so I liked the location. It was away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to sites.
After the first day we came back to the room the find a note from the hotel wishing us a happy anniversary and they left some complimentary champagne. This was so nice and made our stay even more wonderful. On the second evening we came back to chocolates on our pillows and towels on the floor laid out for us. Was a really nice touch. When sleeping we had all the curtains open so we woke up in time for the sunrise at 8am was beautiful. Have the holiday blues because of this view!
The restaurant was also amazing and had great views. The starter and desert was amazing. The steak for main however was a bit expensive for what it was. Other mains looked a lot nicer so order something else if possible... As a last note, we wanted to stay forever - thanks Torre Catalunya!! We will be back whenever I next come back to Barca. Gracias.
