“Excellent Hotel - no complaints”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

My grandson and I visited this hotel for 3 nights - we both enjoyed the experience in the hotel. It is within very easy reach of the airport and also all of the sights to see in Barcelona. The tourist open deck buses and the metro are close as are many bus routes. Although a "business" hotel we found it an excellent base for our stay

Room Tip: The higher the room the better view you get but - if you are having breakfast in the hotel you will...

Most major cities cater well for the business traveller but not necessarily the family of four. The Torre Catalunya bucks the trend. Their well equipped family rooms are situated on the upper floors (we were on 19) with simply jaw dropping views over the city and sea. 2 huge rooms with a spacious lounge in the middle was the perfect recipe - nice to see some hotels getting it right. Classy bathrooms too. Breakfast in the restaurant on the 23rd floor was very good and again the views were spectacular. The staff were excellent and free good quality Wi-Fi was yet another plus.
The location in the Montjuic area was ideal being close to the Place d'Espagne, Magic Fountain, National Palace and the Olympic Stadium. It's a short 7 euro taxi ride into the main part of the city. A couple of things - it would have been good if the children had been allowed to use the pool in the spa (which we didn't visit) and the air con wasn't the most effective but minor points really in the scheme of things. We would definitely visit the hotel again if we return to Barcelona.

Room Tip: Definitely choose a room on high floor - 17 and above are best. Our room faced south and west (numb...

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights for Valentine's Day and had a fantastic stay. We were welcomed by lovely staff in particular Georgia who was very pleasant and even gave us a map of the city without us asking. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious offering a unbelievable view of the city (attic room on floor 19).

There is really nothing bad to say about the hotels location and comfortability - the only issue we encountered was when we went to the visual restaurant on floor 23 for a meal. The staff there had us booked in as a package which cost 50 euros PP and only one choice on the menu which my partner wasn't keen on. Once we informed them of us not being in this package the staff changed our menu but then unfortunately gave my partner the totally wrong meal from which she ordered. However, as the rest of the stay was super it was only a minor negative which in the scheme of things didn't matter. The spa we visited every day of our stay for an hour or 2 as it was clean, tranquil and very relaxing!

I would certainly recommend this hotel for anybody visiting barcelona and it 8 very close to all transport methods

We arrived in the evening and were met by a lovely receptionist Louis - he was really helpful with local knowledge. We were given a free upgrade and also offered breakfast at a really good rate.

The room we were given was on 20th floor, 2005 and it had really good view of Barcelona. The bed was massive (2 singles put together). Nice touch with separate wash basis, loo, bath and shower. Molten Brown toiletries - really nice touch.

There were robes and slippers in the room which was really nice considering we had just come from a spa hotel in UK where these weren't provided unless requested.

The hotel is literally less than 5 minutes from Sants station which is ideal to travel from hotel to airport! We found this out after arriving in a taxi at a cost of 30 euros and then buying a 10.80 euro 10 trip ticket which allowed both of us to travel up to 5 journeys each on metro and trains (included travel to airport).

Note when taking the train to the airport that it takes you into Terminal B and if you are flying with Easyjet it is a good 10 minute walk to Terminal C but did notice there were terminal buses you could use to get around.

The breakfast was good - good variety so something to eat for all.

We didn't use the spa as just been to a spa hotel but would consider visiting it on our next visit.

Would definitely consider staying and recommending this hotel to other people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in a quiet area (I did this as I am a light sleeper) and if possible they will meet y...

Lightning trip to Barcelona from SW France. One night only at this hotel but a very memorable one. Very pleased with the room and facilities. Pity it's so near to the station, although this makes it very convenient for rail travellers like us. High spot of our single night was the meal in the top-floor restaurant. Great views of the city and a very tasty and elegantly-crafted meal.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing north east - better view. South west overlooks the railway station.
