“Great hotel to explore Barcelona”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

Right from the start our experience at this hotel was great, from easy check in and friendly staff including Clara on reception who was great for advice of places to go and nothing was any bother - even deciding to book at the hotel restaurant to eat a couple of hours later!
All the staff in the reception area were friendly and welcoming and on hand to offer you top tips of where to go.
When we booked we paid extra for a Collection room - and it was well worth the money. We were lucky enough to have a room on the 16th floor and had stunning views out towards the Palace at Montjuic. The room itself was very comfortable and even the marble floor was cooling on the feet after a long day out and about. Plenty of space for the two of us and all our bags and one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on when out and about for a long time!
The restaurant was a great place for a romantic meal. not only did it have stunning panoramic views of the city but the food was amazing. What I liked about it was the way the tables were set, you didn't have to face your partner or the window - you could do both! The staff were attentive but you didn't feel like they were pressuring you to eat and move on, you could savour the fabulous flavours of your meal and take in the view (even with a raging thunderstorm on one night!)
One of the best features of this hotel is its location. For us it was an ideal base to explore the city. Its just a short walk from Sants station and all the big attractions and a direct line to the airport which is just a short 20 minute journey away.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great place to relax, good food and good base to explore the city.
We would definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor as the views are better

A great hotel to stay in - convenient in terms of distance from the facilities i.e. Sants Station, Open Top Bus tours and bars and restaraunts in walking distance. Room was nice and regularly cleaned and though not on the highest level, enabled us to have a good view of the area and see the hotel with the rooftop swimming pool. Staff were personable, helpful and attentive to our needs. The Spa facility was lovely as was the Sauna and Steam room. The swimming pool is nice and heated albeit a little small.

The only thing that marred our stay slightly was a visit to an outside cafe - Top Tapas (in Las Ramblas, nearer the beach side) where the Paella was full of bones and gristle. When we raised this the maitre d became quite surly and unpleasant. Also, the larger was a whopping 9 euros - though it does come in a huge glass, there was no pricing around that we could see so we got stung with the drinks we ordered.

Room Tip: 14th floor has good view

Great city hotel. large modern rooms and bathrooms with panoramic views across the city. The higher you go the better the view - so make sure you go up-to the restaurant to get your bearings by looking out across the whole city. Location is close to Sants station (across the road), Nou Camp, Magic Fountain and on the Tourist Bus route. If you intend walking everywhere it's about 25 minutes to Ramblas at a fair pace, but there's so much to see and do along the way if you are on holiday.
Pool is very compact so a little disappointing for me. One evening the weather was a little stormy and even on the middle floors the noise and rattling sounded like the windows would blow out. They didn't of course, but it made for a poor nights sleep. Overall although staff are helpful the bar and other areas are a little soulless but the stylish rooms make up for this.

Room Tip: If you can stand heights, the higher the better.

We chose this hotel given the outstanding reviews on Tripadvisor. Perhaps our expectations were too high...

1) The queues at reception are long. At all times of the day. For this reason we had a very long wait before we could check in (and ask any subsequent questions).

2) Our first nights sleep was terrible! The beds were uncomfortable, so much light came into the room and there was non-stop noise from the hotel from approx 6am. We asked to change rooms which itself was a lengthy process.

3) The final room which we agreed to take also had its problems. Again the beds are not comfortable at all. The shower pipe had a tear in it and would spray water all over the place. On discovery of these problems, we couldn't be bothered to move rooms again, so we stuck with it.

Granted the hotel has good views, but with a real lack of basic requirements, we could not understand why this hotel is so highly rated! I feel I'm being generous rating it as 'average'!

Great hotel to stay in Barcelona. We stayed before and after our June 1st cruise. Right next to the train station which was great from the airport and to the port. Saved a lot by not having to use taxis. You walk out of the train station walk across the plaza and the hotel is across the street on the right. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Internet was great. We were able to FaceTime with our grow kids back in the U.S. Breakfast was very good with many choices. Great views of the entire city from our room and the breakfast restaurant. Room was very comfortable and clean. Great bathroom.

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for a 5 day break at the beginning of June. When we arrived the receptionists were lovely, a very quick check in, we were also told about the Magic Fountain shows that were later on that night, which was a fantastic tip!

The room was very spacious, very clean and airy. We were located on the 15th floor on the same side as the Barcelona Sants. The views from this hotel are amazing. The taxis outside the station can get a little noisy for a few minutes each night but nothing to complain about. The room is very clean and the bathroom is modern and luxurious.

The location of the hotel is ideal, you can get the train from the airport straight to Barcelona Sants which then the hotel is a step across the road! The hotel is around 6 stops away from La Ramblas on the retro which is all of a 10 minute journey. We didn't mind being a bit further away from the hustle and bustle plus the metro runs till midnight every night.

Would definitely recommend the hop on hop off Bus Touristic, you can pick this up from a stop near the hotel just behind the station, we also brought our tickets for this from the hotel. The staff were always extremely helpful and informative.

If you are looking for a luxurious hotel with perfect transportation links, this is your ideal hotel!
Would recommend and visit again.

Room Tip: Higher floors on the side opposite to Barcelona Sants station!

This hotel is excellent. Very stong 4 star in my opinion. The location is next to a main railway with easy access to the airport and has a tube station located inside.

The room was big with great views accross the city. Very clean and had the best powerful shower I have ever used.

Will definatly return to this hotel in the future. Both me and my partner loved our stay.
