Spent hours going through Tripadvisor hotel reviews basing my selections on location and stars and then stumbled on this hotel simply because so many people had said it was excellent. And they're right. You can't fault it so save time, bite the bullet and trust me. It's a modern, high tower style hotel. No balconies. Location? Well for travelling around - metro is across the road 3 lines so you don't have to keep changing. Room quality? Air conditioning seamless and a huge relief after a long sweaty day out sightseeing. Big fat fluffy pillows, comfortable beds, white bedding, spacious, tea & coffee, fridge, safe, huge window stretching the width of the room so natural light is excellent. Power points by desk, fast WiFi, full length mirrors, telly with BBC news, CNN etc. Towel robes n slippers, super towels, Molton Brown toiletries and plenty of em. Bathroom is just fab. Clean, spacious and well designed with 2 sinks, magnifying mirror, walk in large shower, good lighting. Incredibly QUIET. No noise of plumbing or from other guests or housekeeping, even from ice maker outside our room. Staff? A delight. Asked for more hangers. Arrived quickly. My friends birthday? They sent up cake with a candle and note from the hotel. They're lovely. Oh and The spa and Gym. Not huge but swimming pool, sauna, steam room, fitness machines, jacuzzi and treatments. Small and perfectly formed. I can't fault our room for comfort. Would have liked more drawers to put away nic nacs and underwear but small gripe. We didn't eat breakfast here or dinner but if you do the Panoramic Restaurant on the top floor looks terrific. This hotel is not full of Spanish character but you get that outside. I looked at places off La Rambla and they'd be much smaller rooms, blooming noisy and quite dark as the roads are narrow. It's a good trade off in my opinion. Character against convenience, comfort, great staff, great views great price.

Room Tip: Worth paying a little more for an Attic room as the views are sensational

We spent two nights here at the end of our cruise at the end of July. Check in was very easy and the staff was very friendly. We were given a map and they answered all questions we had about getting around. We had booked a family room and we're surprised when we walked into the room. We'd been given an adjoining room with a small living room in-between. The girls were willing to overlook the lack of two beds (a kingsize was in the room) because they'd have their own room and bathroom. The views were amazing! We could look at the La Sagrada de Familia from our room. It was a great way to orient ourselves. We added the breakfast at checkin and was very happy we did. It was delicious: pastries, cereal, hot food items, fruit, juice, meats and cheese. Delicious coffee. We saw friends later and told them how wonderful the hotel was and they ended up switching hotels to the Hotel Gran Torre Catalunya. The wifi worked very well. We would definitely
stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the 18th floor and there was noise during the day from the many people using the train st...

My wife and I stumbled upon this hotel a few days before our wedding anniversary. Thinking it would be nice to stay somewhere a little more special we booked a room at the Gran Hotel Torre through Agoda. We got a pretty good deal on a double room and the great thing was that the location was perfect our train ride the next morning to Madrid. The hotel is very conveniently located beside the Sans Esascion train station.

The staff there were nothing short of excellent. The front desk let us check in at 8 am and held our bags for us while we explored the city. I had mentioned to Pablo at the reception that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary that day and Pablo assured me that he would have something special for us. He discretely asked what time we could be expected to arrive that night. That evening when we arrived, we were so pleased to see that they had upgraded our room to a spacious corner suite with a view and even had a bottle of freshly chilled champagne waiting for us on the table.

The next morning, we had a quick breakfast up in the restaurant. The view from the top is really remarkable and worth going to. The meal is very reasonably priced for a breakfast buffet (simple, delicious, but with healthy options) and the service was good as well.

It's the attention to detail that makes the this hotel excellent. The Gran Torres hotel topped off what was a magnificent time in Barcelona. Pablo and his staff did a wonderful job. They have a great hotel and very good service. We would whole heartedly recommend the hotel to anyone passing through the city.

I have come back to review this hotel as I stayed last summer and realise I hadn't left a comment here.
We stayed in August 2013 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We upgraded our room to a suite on one of the top floors and I cannot recommend this enough! The views are spectacular. Check in was a breeze and we were welcomed each time we came into the hotel throughout our stay by the staff. Our room was perfect we could literally map out our day from our bedroom window! The bed was enormous and comfortable. The bathroom was equally great with a fab walk in shower. Before we arrived we had a few questions about getting to the hotel from the airport and I received very helpful replies via Facebook and email from the staff. It is not in the centre of everything going on but we enjoyed walking everywhere from here. The station is across the road and the magic fountains just ten minutes away. We even walked to the beach in under an hour if you are feeling up to it. There is a small spa in the basement, which was lovely to while away an hour before dinner. We tried the hotel restaurant on the top floor, which was okay. The breakfast each morning was delicious and worth paying extra for each day. Another lovely gesture was the bottle of bubbles awaiting us for our anniversary celebration. You can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a suite on the higher floors for the most amazing views on the city!

We booked via lastminute.com and didn't expect to find anything wonderful, however we were very pleasantly surprised. We stayed for 4 nights. Station with trains to and from airport just over the road. We were offered a free upgrade to an executive suite on arrival which was really spacious and comfortable. The hotel isn't close to the centre of Barcelona so we had a 40 minute walk on the 1st day into the centre but it was really easy. The 2nd day we jumped on the metro to Ocata beach - really easy journey & beautifully quiet beach. 3rd day, we did the tourist buses around Barcelona which left from Sants station. Loads of good restaurants close to hotel. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and really helpful. Can't recommend highly enough!!

We chose the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya as it is across from the Sants train station. This made our arrival and departure super smooth. Plus the location allowed us to take the Metro to the beach on day 1 and do the tourist bus on day 2. We were able to walk to shopping and Tapas Tapas. Another night we took a cab for less than 10 Euro to the Ramblas for dinner and shopping.
